"Ah, what a handsome young man, " his dreadful voice spoke. "You will be a wonderful son."
I didn't know why he kept on saying that word. Son. "What do you want from me!?" I yelled. "We do not yell, not under my supervision!" He corrected me, with angry eyes. He took a breath. "Isn't that right, daughter?" The girl nodded, now with tape on her mouth. He went towards her and pulled off the tape. "I said, Isn't that right, daughter?"
I could see fear in her eyes.
"Yes, f-father, you are c-correct." She trembled in fear.
"You see, son, we will be a happy family," he said. "Your new name will be Michael."
Michael?
"Now, your new name will be Jenny," He said, pointing to the girl. "MY NAME IS NOT JENNY! ITS'S KATIE!" He looked furious. He went towards her and kicked her ribs. She was crying in pain. He dusted off his jeans. He said in a calmer voice, "Now, be good kids while I prepare supper!"
When he left, she started crying. "A-are you o-okay?" I asked her. "No, I-I..." She couldn't even speak. "W-we ha-have t-to get out o-of here." She said, barely catching her breath. "Wh-what's your real n-name?" She asked me. "Luis." I responded.
"L-Luis, you have t-to promise me we will get out of h-here,"
"I promise."
