Scared. cold. hurt.

Her body was shivering, in the arms of New York's cold air. Hidden in the alley, in a dark corner she was trying to wash away the poisonous touch of the unknown man that had left her alone in the night, feeling like this.
She couldn't scream, she was embarrassed to do so and she was physically unable to. It was like she had forgotten how to make any sound. She tried several times to stand on her feet but her knees were too weak and her vision was too blurry. So instead she lied down on the frozen pavement, unable to speak or move, she felt as if she was underwater, slowly running out of air, as the freezing weather was pulling her deeper and deeper into the darkness with no return.

The noise that would reach her ears was a mix of the running cars, loud music coming from the bars around and the scary sounds of the wind playing around with anything he could find. Every alley in New York looked the same so she couldn't realize where she was exactly, she didn't even have the strength to try. There was only one thing that was clear in her mind as she laid still on her little corner and that was a prayer she used to whisper since she was a kid. She hadn't thought about that prayer in years but now even on her drunken state, the words and rhymes were as clear as when she had first learned it. But would He listen to her now? She could only hope.

Suddenly a loud banging followed by loud laughter interrupted her prayer. Someone was near her, she opened her eyes slightly to take a look and in all the blur she noticed three figures just a little farther away from her. She wanted to say something but she was scared, she surely wouldn't survive another kick or punch by anyone and she wanted- she needed to get out of this cold ocean and reach the sore before it was too late.

She noticed one of the figures coming closer to her, the other two following behind him. The girl moved closer to the wall in fear and in an attempt to avoid any touching with the unknown man.

"Hey, are you ok?" His voice sounded like an echo in her ears. She stared at him terrified. She knew the words but they still didn't make sense in her dizzy brain. "Nick! Call an Ambulance! Now!." He said, his voice getting louder.
She tried to follow the conversation between the three figures but all she got were pieces of it, tangled up together. "...I just found her here."

One of the men took of his jacket quickly and moved closer to the girl. He tried to put his jacket around her but she shook him off immediately out of instinct and her eyes opened widely, scaring all the men that were standing around her. "I'm Not going to hurt you." He told her, but his words meant nothing.

"Her head's bleeding." Said another echoing voice. The same man tried to to reach out to her like The last one had but he was slower. He stretched his hand for her, giving her some time.

"Hey love. I'm Joe. What's your name?"

His questioned was left unanswered. He lowered his hand and knelt down across from her. His body was only a shadow in her eyes.

"We only want to help." he sighed "I'm gonna need you to get away from that wall, please." he started moving closer to her slowly "I know you're scared, Alright? I don't know what happened to you but you must be freezing in that dress" he moved a little closer. He took of his jacket smoothly. "I'm just going to put this over you, ok?"

The girl, watched him carefully, she just hid deeper into the corner looking away from him. Joe tried to cover her with his jacket like he said, but the second she felt it on her skin she pushed him away with a broken a scream. How got back on his knees quickly, and in a swift moment he wrapped her gently with his jacket and held her tight against his chest, despite her kicks and her weak punches he didn't let go.

"Shh, Shh, You'll be ok, calm down."He whispered in her ear. His voice actually sounded clear to her, his breath against her ear made her feel safe. "Hold on for me until the ambulance comes." She let herself calm down in his touch, like he asked her too. She was too tired of fighting. Suddenly so many more tears started rolling down her eyes, like he had triggered an endless storm.

When the ambulance came, joe helped the doctors put her in the back and when it left, the three boys stayed behind and looked around in case they found any of her stuff. Joe, found a wallet dropped on the pavement and picked it up. It was mostly empty, the only thing he found was her ID. She looked very different on the picture she had there. Her brunette hair were long and curly and fell on her shoulder beautifully. Her eyes, even on the photograph looked like diamonds, there was a unique spark in them, a sign of kindness.

"Hey guys, I've got her name. It's Thalia Harold." The other men got around Joe and looked at the ID. "She's not even from here, she is from London."

"Maybe she's here for collage." said Nick.

"What if she's here for vacation? Alone?."

"Joe! Forget it!" Said Nick, "We can not be mixed up with whatever happened to her. You can't see her again-"

"We gotta help her. At least make sure that she's ok."

"He's not wrong.." agreed Kevin. "I mean I know I would want someone to be there for my daughters if something happened to them."

"Well this is one hell of a way to finish a show" Nick groaned.

"What if she was on the concert and this happened inside the venue?" Joe asked.

"the place was guarded if anything happened in there we'd know."

Joe looked down at her ID again. Looking at her innocent smile, he couldn't stop his feet from moving.

"Where are you even going? Joe! we are supposed to wait for our driver, there's going to be a crowd of fans waiting for you in the front!" Shouted Nick.

"I'll get a cab! I Need to get this to the hospital!"

"JOE!"
