This specific chapter is in Georgia's point of view.
THE FIRST DAY IF TERM
I was awoken by my mums loud shouting towards Hannah, telling her to hurry up so she could eat. I got out of bed after I was sure mum had walked back downstairs. I felt a shiver go down my spine as footsteps walked down the hallway, and drifted. Someone walking downstairs. I flung the sheets off of my skin, feeling slightly colder than usual. I walked slowly over to the window and unconcealed the pane of glass from the curtain. I smiled as a tiny little bird perched itself on the windowsill.
I decided I had left the family waiting long enough. I ran over to my bedroom door, and down the stairs, still in my pyjamas. I sat at the table, earning a glare from mum, and a half hearted smile from Zac.
After I'd shoved the last parts of my pancake into my mouth I ran back upstairs, before hearing the commotion; family arguments.
I opened my wardrobe and looked through my dresses.
The yellow one looked a little funny, and I didn't feel like wearing blue. Pink was too girly. The black was too long and the purple was a little short.
"White it is," I mumbled to myself. I got dressed but packed shorts and a t-shirt just in case. Never know what could happen.
Mum started to call up the stairwell so I hurriedly tied my little white Vans and bolted down the stairs, swiping my bad from the hall on the way down.
The car ride was quiet and after giving mum a kiss, I quickly went to my classroom. Unlike Zac and Hannah, I have one teacher the entire day for the whole year!
"Oh Georgia! How nice of you to join us!" Mr Carmicheal shouted over the other kids.
"Sorry I'm late." I apologised, glancing at the floor.
He smiled and pointed to a seat.
Uh. Oh.
Not her.
Anyone. But. Her.
Maria Rodgers.
Spoilt little brat.
Her father was an accountant and her mum was a sales lady.
Maria got EVERYTHING! She is the only six year old I know who has an iPhone 5S, with a SIM card and stuff.
I plonked my stuff down next to my seat and pulled out my books. As I placed them neatly on the table, I noticed that it was Monday. Mr C always let's us eat fruit on Mondays! I leant over to my bag to pull out my apple when my books landed beside me on the floor.
I picked them up and placed them back where they were, then gave an evil look to Maria, as she evilly smiled back, twirling her hair with her finger.
Gosh I HATE this girl!
She's so....so....DISGUSTING!
She kissed Brandon the other day, like ew....boy germs! You gotta be careful of those.
The bell rang after the first part of the day.
I decided I didn't want to play tiggy today, instead, I decided to play downball.
I hit the ball, but it was intercepted by Maria. She grabbed the ball and threw it away.
"Hey that's my ball!" Eric shouted, pouting at Maria, arms crossed over his chest.
"What're you going to do about it?" Maria retorted, getting snotty.
"Maria, leave him alone!" I shouted, stepping in front of Eric.
"Oh yeah?" She yelled, shoving me backwards.
"Stop it!" I yelled, catching my balance.
Maria continued to shove me until I fell over backwards. She stood over me and started to kick me. the pain seemed never ending.
Until one of the teachers pulled her off me.
I rose to my feet and grabbed my bag. I ran into the bathroom, in a stall and locked the door. I got changed out of my white dress, it had splotches of red on it.
My eye was aching and my lip was bleeding.
I got changed quickly and shoved my blood covered dress into the pocket of my bag.
I unlocked the bathroom stall and walked out, surrounded by other girls and teachers. Silence filled every corner of the bathroom. I walked over to the wash basin and washed my hands and face, erasing both of the blood coating.
I walked out of the bathroom and waited at the classroom until the bell went.
Mr Carmicheal walked over to the classroom and stopped in awe.
"May I please not sit with Maria?" I asked him, trying not to cry.
"S-sure..." He stuttered, unlocking the door.
I grabbed my stuff and moved it over to a little table between the teachers desk and the door.
The day went by so slowly, almost as if it was in slow motion.
After my lonely lunch, Maria walked into the classroom grabbed her stuff and walked out.
I slammed my head onto the desk and cried silently, I just couldn't hold it.
The final bell of the day sounded and I waited for my mum's car. The car rolled up, Zac and Hannah walking up to the car. I hopped in.
We arrived home and mum had received a text from the school.
Hello Sarah,
It's Helen from Fraser. Just informing you that Maria Rodgers hit Georgia multiple times.
She may be feeling a little unwell.
And another text from Maria's mum.
Your Daughter is a little shit! Keep her away from my little angel or else.
I got a lecture from mum all about how I should protect myself and not stand up for others.
Whatever.
I hope a plane comes and smashes through my window.
