Chapter 01
I'm normal, i repeat I am normal!!
Damnit!
What the hell!
Parents are annoying.
Grandma say what now?
This is me running from the top four defenders from the football team who being super kind, have decided to feed me a healthy helping of homemade knuckle sandwiches.
I. Am. Toast.
The hallways of Aro-mi Secondary school seem to span for ever. Curse the architect who decided to place ten freaking arms on the same stretch. I try my best to run faster or at least maintain my current speed but my legs have a different suggestion. I soon start lagging behind and start preparing myself for a good beat down.
I repeat, I. Am. Toast.
"Ey! The five of you come here," a male voice yells behind us. I turn a bit to look at its owner, my legs still pushing on.
"Thank goodness, a teacher," I mutter out of breath, my legs still in motion. There was no way in hell I was gonna stop until I was out of dangers reaches.
I don't stop running until I stop hearing the footfalls of my pursuers. I do a one eighty and trudge to the location of the call.
Getting to the door of the classroom, I read out the plaque on the door frame, "SS 3 D," the room was otherwise empty apart from the Old man sitting at the class teachers desk and the five miscreants disturbing the school's after hours peace.
"Sit," he said calmly pointing to the metal sit and desk combos. He flipped through some papers on his desk that may have been test scripts but I threw the notion away, this was the third week from resumption.
We sat in silence for five excruciating minutes, the buff dudes giving me murderous glances and flipping not so subtle birdies at me. the silence reminded me of detention in my old school but I couldn't make a direct comparison because I never got a first-hand experience.
The memories of my old school seemed to have occurred a lifetime ago but it's just been two months since I moved; more accurately: since I was hijacked, kidnapped, transported and dumped here in a hell hole with lots and lots of problems.
"What's your name?" The teacher asked his face looking in my direction.
"Akinbode sir."
"You're new here abi?"
"Yes sir,"
"I'm going to ignore whatever it is that happened, so be on your way," his face was calm but his eyes told me he wasn't the one you wanted to be on bad terms with.
I stood up from where I sat and walked away, "thank you sir,"
He waved me away and just before I left the class, I saw his face turn hard as he looked at the other four, "as for the four of you...."
I ran away before he could finish his sentence or change his mind.
***
Now I'm sure you're wondering what it is that I did in the first place that warranted four dudes, who I assume to be in SS 3, to chase a saint like me. Well all I can say is I blame my grandmother for not adhering to the proper pick up time. What would you expect a JS 2 student to do after waiting for two whole hours hoping the next car that drives into the school compound is yours.
