Bite Marks (short story)

Before I let sleep take me I said once last thing, "please Colby...don't let me leave you in bite marks..."

I groaned and my eyes squinted shut. "Ugh..what happened.." I rubbed my eyes and sat up.

Slowly I came to my senses and remembered everything that I happened yesterday. I sighed and got up to check on Colby.

I knocked on his door and when he didn't answer I went inside. I saw a little note in his bed.

Went out, didn't know when you'd wake up, I did know that you'd come into my room, I'll be home soon

I went and sat in my room thinking about yesterday's events. How my eyes had become different then before, like I was evolving or some weird shit. I didn't know what was happening and I really needed answers.

I also knew Colby needed answers and I knew I had to give them.

Suddenly there was a knock on my door, "come in," I said, looking up. Jake and Colby came in and my eyebrows knitted together. "What's up?" I asked, "I know you feed on Jake..and I um...I kinda wanna see.." Colby mumbled, rubbing the back of his neck.

I looked at Jake and he nodded in reassurance. "Are you sure you wanna see Colby?" I asked and he nodded.

I sighed and got up. I walked up to Jake and pulled him closer. He complied easily from being used to it. I smelled Jake's neck and let my senses fade out.

The normal ache in my mouth came and I could feel the veins.

I bit into his neck gently and let the wound open. I licked over the blood gently and smiled and the sweet taste. I bit down again and sucked out blood that Jake willingly gave him.

After a few seconds I pulled away and licked my lips. I then bit down on my wrist and held it up to Jake. He took some of my blood and the wound healed.

We both looked over at Colby who was in awe. "Could you...um...could you do it to me..?" He asked, his voice was soft yet pleading.

I tensed and so did Jake. I could see it. I shook my head, "no Colbs, I can't, I'm sorry," I told him, he frowned, "why?" He asked. "I just can't, okay Colby?" I said with a little more force.

He nodded. "I have other questions," he started to say, "yeah I know you do, ask away" I chuckled. Jake left and me and Colby sat on my bed.

"How'd it happen?" He asked, "I don't remember, something or someone made me forget as soon as they knew I was ready to be by myself." I replied.

"When?" "Remember when I said I was gonna be gone for a while? Well that was the reason." I told him, he nodded.

"What's it like?" He was so curious it made me smile, "honestly it's awesome. I can do so many things that no human can do. It definitely has its perks."

"How do you walk in the sun?" I tensed a little bit, "I have my ways," I said a little bluntly. He nodded.

"Why won't you take my blood?" He asked softly, I sighed, "I can't tell you why Colbs, just know that I can't, okay?" He frowned but dropped it.

"I can't think of anything else right now." Colby said. I nodded and he walked out of my room.
