A/N: My apologies if you can't see the cover well. I'll try to fix it when I can. And sorry for any spelling mistakes(I can't spell lol).

I walked silently on the bridge of Magnolia Town, looking every direction to see if I heard a noise or even a small rustle of bushes. You never know what could be hidden in there. I clenched my bag with my supplies in anger. How could something so unlikely like this happen?

As I clenched my bag I heard a growl. I tensed my shoulders and looked up to see a zombie running my way. You'd expect to be the dead slow, but you'd be wrong. They're fast as hell.

As it was running at me lifelessly, I held my bag tightly and threw it near it's head, making the zombie fall down to the ground with a low growl. I looked around to find anything I could use as a weapon and found a stick dangling by the edge of the bridge, ready to fall into the water. Before it fell, I quickly grabbed it. The zombie was up now, running at me again. Its saliva was drooling down to its shoulders, making my gag in disgust, but I ignored it and quickly attacked the zombie with the stick, making it's ashed body fall into the water.

I walked to the rails of the bridge and watched the zombie sink into the water slowly before I grabbed my bag and put it onto my shoulder as I was walking. I passed the bridge without countering any zombies and sighed with relief. I held onto the stick I used securely, just in case if I meet anything up ahead.

I tried to make my footsteps as quiet as possible when I was off the bridge, walking on the head gravel of the streets, but it was hard to not make any noise. When I passed a few houses from Magnolia Town, I thought of how this whole thing even started.

A couple of days ago, the news reporter said to just stay in your houses and whatever you do, do not go outside. Everyone was confused, of course, and some people obviously didn't listen. Like my older brother.

I sighed remembering the memory but continued to think how this became how it was now. After everyone realized what was happening, people panicked. People died. And sometimes they were the ones who took their own life.

The virus infection only lasted for a few minutes, until you became one of the undead. First, you'll feel uneasy and start throwing up. Next, you'll start to feel limpish and hungry. But not the usual hungry. The cannibal type of hungry. Then, you start to eat your own flesh, until blood completely covers your body. Finally, that's when you become one of the zombies. And that's only in a few minutes.

Just a little scratch from those things can cause an infection, but that only lasts for a few hours, the others are shorter.

How do I know all of this? I saw it happen to my family and remembered the time for what bite or scratch. I remembered it just in case we didn't find a cure. Or me, instead of we if I was the last person alive, but I honestly doubt it.

There has to be someone, anyone here than just me, right?

I passed a few buildings before I saw a convenient store, and walked the direction to it. The door was locked, but I tried opening it just in case it wasn't.

Thankfully I heard a clicking noise and the door opened after I pushed it. When I entered the store I saw that some of the food or other supplies were thrashed on the floor, but there were some other things still left on the shelves.

I quickly opened my back and grabbed everything that I needed for food. I can't grab any other useless supplies or it will slow me down. I grabbed some water bottles, a few bags of potato chips, a 40 pack chewing gum, and some canned foods, as well as Twinkies before most of the shelf on this aisle was gone.

I looked passed the aisle just to make sure everything was clear. Nothing's there. I sighed with relief and walked passed the hallway to the next aisle but there were no useful foods or most of it was gone. I decided to back to the door, but it was closed.

That's when I heard it. A very close growl a few feet from me.

I turned around to see a zombie limping by the left of the room, the opposite direction that I was going. I turned back to the door to try to open it, but it was locked.

How did this happen!? I thought that the door was unlocked when I came in!

Before I could think I ran to the other back door of the store to see if it was unlocked, but just my luck it was.

I tried forcing it open as I heard the zombie's limping body come closer each second, but it was no use. The door was closed shut and there was nothing to do about it.

My lips start to tremble and my hands begin to shake.

Is this the way I was going to die?
