(Reader's power is invisibility)
Five strolled into Griddy's, taking a seat at the bar and ringing the bell. He glanced around, noticing a girl his (physical) age at the other end of the bar, sitting with the wall to her left. She was scribbling something down in a black notebook, her face only slightly visible due to the hood of her black jacket. The waitress didn't appear to the sound of the bell, so Five occupied himself by looking over at the girl.
"Hey, what're you writing?" Five asked. The girl stopped scribbling and lifted her head very slightly, only her eye area visible.
"It's,uhm, addresses" She spoke. Five glanced at the girl's eyes, overwhelmed by how pretty they were.
"I see" There was silence for a while and the girl went back to writing. Then the waitress came out.
"Okay, what can I getcha?" She asked, a cheery smile as she looked at Five.
"Coffee. Black" five told her and the waitress looked slightly taken aback. Nevertheless she wrote it down and turned to the girl.
"And you?"
"I'll take the same" The girl told her, keeping her head down so her eyes were just about visible. The waitress began to make the coffee and the girl began writing again.
"You must have a lot of places to go" Five mentioned, glancing back at the girl.
"I'm typically busy" She replied.
"So, what's your name?" He asked and she placed her pen down.
"Uh, Y/n. Y/n L/n" Y/n told him. Five nodded as they were handed their coffee. He got out the money to pay, but was interrupted.
"I got his" Y/n told the waitress, sliding the money across the counter.
"Thanks"
"Don't mention it"
The waitress went back to the back of the shop and there was silence.
"So what's your name?"
"Well, my name is Five"
"Five?"
"Yeah, my dad never really bothered to name us""Sounds like he was delightful" Y/n muttered and Five chuckled.
"Yeah, something like that" The two sat silently for a while, before they heard the door swing open and multiple people come in. Five looked at the reflection of the bell before him, identifying multiple masked, armed men aiming their guns at him.
"Hm, I thought I had more time before they found me" Five spoke.
"You may want to run, This won't end nicely" Five stated, looking up at the now empty space at the end of the bar. He sighed. He didn't even get her number before she fled. Five looked down and sneakily grabbed hold of the butter knife.
"C'mon, just get up and come with us. You really think I wanna shoot a kid? That I wanna go home with that on my conscience?" One man angrily told him.
"I wouldn't worry too much...You won't be going home" Five jumped up, stabbing one guy with the knife before spatial jumping away. He appeared on the bar, lying on his side.
"Hey, idiots" The men turned and started firing at him, to which of course they missed. The fight continued. Five teleported around swiftly, attacking each man. However he got caught in a difficult position-whilst holding off one guy, another swung for him. Five's eyes widened when suddenly the guy going for him gasped desperately for breath and gripped his neck before being pushed backwards by what seemed like nothing. This 'nothing' continued to dot around. five noticed the men's guns being pulled and fired at them. After every man was dead, Five moved to retrieve his tie, that had been wrapped around a guy's throat. When he turned back around, he saw Y/n, crouched down as she retrieved a knife from a man's chest.
"So you were my mysterious saviour?" Five asked as Y/n stood up. He stared in awe at her, her hood now down. He gawked at her (eye colour) eyes as she smiled.
"You're not the only one with powers, Number Five" She told him, and his grin faltered.
"Ah, so you're aware of the umbrella academy?"
"I am, but don't worry. I'm not some crazy fangirl. I just spent a good 44-45 years in the future so I had time to read the news articles dotted around" She straightened out, fixing her hair that was in her face.
"The future? The post-apocalyptic future?" Five spoke, shocked.
"Yeah I- wait how did you know about the apocalypse?"
"I-I was there! I spent 45 years of my life, oblivious to the fact that someone else was there" Five muttered to himself, looking down in disbelief.
"Well, we're here now, right? Now if you'll excuse me, I've got a world to save" Y/n chuckled, winking as she tucked a folded piece of paper in Five's blazer pocket. She casually walked away and pushed open the door, not looking back as she walked out and turned invisible again. Five watched as she disappeared, smirking. He took the paper from his pocket and read it, a number in the middle with a small written line under it- 'Let me know when you're around'. His smirk grew wider. Maybe these last few days wouldn't be so awful.
