Chapter 1
The life of Emma Ross began as horrifying as you could possibly imagine. She could not remember it of course but this is her story, from the beginning. Emma Ross was born at St. Margret’s Hospital. Her mother, Joanne Ross, was a poor woman and her father was an American soldier sent away to fight for the country. Therefore, Emma never knew her father. Emma’s mother was a sickly woman in her early twenties. Doctors were sent to the ward to help Emma’s mother with the birth. They sent two of the doctors who were with her for the past couple of weeks before the birth, Dr. Diana Duchess and Dr. Michael Williams. Both doctors went into the room with three nurses. The doctors urged Joanna to push out the baby and take deep breaths as she did. Eventually Emma was born. Despite the way this story starts, with the doctors helping Joanna, this was not the case. Dr. Duchess was truly the only doctor in the room that had helped without doing something more. Dr. Williams on the other hand had planned to do more than just deliver a child. He had planned to make Joanna suffer for no reason or at least so it seemed. He had always loved Joanna since she was a little girl and to think that she had married a man in the army instead of him he was in a fury and he always vowed to make her suffer just as she had made him suffer.
He took her child from her and he intended to keep the child and kill it before he had killed her. Every day when she asked to see Emma, he would not allow it to happen by simply telling her that the baby was not yet ready to come out of the babies’ room and into the world. Eventually, Joanne got fed up of his lame excuses and she reached into the draw beside her bed. As she reached down into the draw she felt for the razor blades and found them, but she also felt something smooth under it. She lifted the smooth item and it turned out to be a folder with around four pages. In the folder contained information on her baby, Emma. It also had a picture of Emma six minutes after she was born. On the back of the picture was Joanne’s name, Emma’s father’s name and the name of all the doctors and nurses that delivered Emma. Of course having as much curiosity as Joanne did she had begun to read the folder’s contents. Her findings revealed that her baby was not in the hospital but somewhere secret. While she was engulfed in her reading, Dr. Williams appeared in the doorway. “Shocking isn’t it! That the man who delivered your baby, and loved you from the first day he laid eyes upon you, is the same man who has these treacherous plans to hurt you and make you suffer”, those were the first words that came out of his mouth. As she looked at him, a sly grin slowly twisted and morphed into a frown of disapproval.
“What don’t you think I still love you, of course I do? But you don’t love me, now do you? Therefore you will have to suffer!” those were the doctor’s words that were stuck in her head.
“Why, why?” were Joanne’s words, “where is she? Where do you have her?”
“She is supposed to be somewhere safe, but you will never get to see her,” scoffed Dr. William.
“I will kill myself if you don’t give me my child!” , said Joanne.
The doctor walked out of the room with a frown on his face. “Kill her, kill her. No let her do it herself. What are you waiting for? Let her do it herself,” these were the words that popped into Dr. Williams’ head. In the end he said that he would let her kill herself. It would be easy to clean the blood off his hands but he was not a killer.
Dr. Williams the next day was even happier than the day before. No one knew why except his girlfriend. He had just proposed to her the night before with an irresistible thirty karat gold ring with thirty karat diamonds and a neat engraving that said: ‘Be mine forever’. She, of course, said yes and let’s just say that his happy morning lasted until he went to the hospital. When he reached the hospital the first thing he did was go to see if he saw a dead Joanne. He was in shock when he saw that she was up and alive. Not fine or happy or healthy but alive.
