Something of Unprecedented Proportions During Training

Yuari's POV: I was up before Shinoa this morning again and she was resting peacefully. My thirst was starting to hurt some more. It's been three days now or two since I last fed but I can last it out. I shower and get done and dressed before Shinoa is up. 'Training yesterday must've really worn those kids out but if I didn't train them like that they'd die in a real fight.' Anyways I'm equipping Akumandal and Shinoa stirs and yawns cutely and smiles at me.

  "Good morning Yuari. You're up early." She smiles brightly as she's got bed head and looks adorable but I can't let on yet.

  I chuckle, "Actually I was up at the same time as I was yesterday. I've already showered and stuff. I guess training really wore you guys out. However I'm not going to let up just because it tired you out. If I don't train you you'll die in the field and I don't want that. You're lucky I decided to be lenient today and let you rest. Now get up and shower and get ready soldier. We'll get you some breakfast and you all will be training as a team."

  She giggles, "Do I get you on my teaaaam?" She does a cute little fidget by turning her body side to side and gives me puppy dog eyes.

  "No. You'll be commanding your squad and trying to take me down." She looks down at this and we round up everyone and train them for awhile on teamwork.

*timeskip 3 hours*

  "Alright everyone you've been training awhile now. Try to see if you can take me down at 15 progenitor level" With that I reduce my speed and strength to that level so I'm limiting myself and they come at me full force. Yuu and Kimizuki try to flank me one on each side while the little Shinoa comes around behind me and attempts to sever my legs, leaving Yoichi in front along with the little blond and they're back just far enough to give room but not for an opening. Easy fix though, I simply jump and use Kimizuki's and Yuu's heads as stepping stones, sending them face first into the ground and landing behind Shinoa with her head bent to the side and face close to her neck indicating that she has died.
"One member of your team down. Plus the other two picking themselves up." As I say that I rush over and grab their throats but not hard enough to kill them then turn around and use them as shield from Yoichi's bow so he doesn't fire. I then toss them at him and rush to Mitsuba, picking her up and miming biting her neck while not touching it and she blushes.
"That's four members gone." While Yoichi is getting the other two off of him I put Akumandal next to his throat.
"That's all five. But I'll admit you guys did well for being newbies and Shinoa even landed a graze on me." I say as blood runs down my cheek and drips onto the ground. Shinoa looks happy and yet seems to feel bad. "Anyways I'm proud of you a-" *BOOM*
At that moment one of the strongest of the four horsemen of John shows up.
"Why are they so close to the city?!" Mitsuba yells.
"I'll get it." I say calmly, avoiding her question. I sheathe Akumandal and begin walking steadily to it watching all the recruits run away, cloak flowing behind me. "Could you have picked a worse time to show up?" I say looking up at its face. I then jump high into the air, "No matter. Your time's up anyways." With that I draw Akumandal in scythe form and run it around back behind the creature's neck, then I spin and pull to me, severing its head. I land back on the ground holding my scythe and revert it to katana form and sheathe it and they all look at me stunned. "What? Is there something on my face?"
Shinoa is the first to speak, "That was the strongest Four Horsemen of John I've ever seen and you took it out like it was nothing. I-I've never seen that before. Your weapon also changes form similar to my scythe except yours changes into two weapons."
"Yeah just what are you playing at why haven't you killed us yet if you can do that?!" Yuu says completely missing the point again.
"I haven't killed you because I want to help you and because I'm not the bad guy. I'm a decent person I like to think and I haven't drank from any of you so lose the attitude Hyakuya."
He glares and gets angrier and charges me head on so I side step and put my knee in his stomach but only hard enough to knock the air out of him. "I said enough Yuu. Anyone else have any piss and vinegar they want to get out?" They all shake their heads. "Good." I turn and start walking back to my room and notice I'm bleeding from my leg and losing blood fast. Willing to bet it's because I jumped up straight into the horsemen's claws and I knew I did but I wanted to make things interesting. I simply heal and keep walking.
*Timeskip 3 hours*
I'm sitting in Shinoa's room leaning on a table for support wincing in pain at my thirst.
"Damn, I should've just ended it quickly instead of goofing around" I say and chuckle, "I forgot that putting on a show would make me thirsty." I say this and then cough up some blood into my bare hand and right as I do that Shinoa walks in so I wipe the blood from my mouth and straighten up like nothing happened.
"Yuari... what was that? You're thirsty aren't you? It's no use pretending, I saw you cough blood. Why'd you let yourself get cut?"
"I wanted you guys to be entertained" I laugh, "But I neglected the fact that it would make me more thirsty. Either way I'm fine don't worry about it." I wince on reflex and double over as more blood runs from my mouth. Then I stand back up straight and wipe the blood away. "See? Good as gold."
She looks like she's on the verge of tears, "Don't do this to yourself! Please... just take a drink of my blood."
"Shinoa I said-" I'm cut off by her pulling me in and holding my head close to her neck and my breath becomes shaky as I smell her blood.
"I don't care what you said. I want you to and if you don't I'm going to get angry."
"Shinoa don't play this game.... I won't be able to control myself if I'm this close for very much longer..." I say shakily smelling her sweet, succulent blood.
"I'm not playing a game! Now drink!" She pushes me closer and presses my mouth to her neck as she gasps and blushes making a noise I can't recognize because I'm too consumed in the thirst.
"Shinoa... what if I don't want to..." I say losing my battle with my hunger for blood.
She simply replies, "I want you to. No, I'd love it if you did. Please drink my blood. If it'll make you live then do it."
"Why would you want the monsters you're trying to destroy to live?"
"For the same reason you're saving the very beings trying to kill you." She says holding me to her neck and I can't help but put my fangs on her neck lightly drawing just a prick of blood and she gasps and smiles. "There, just drink."
"S-Shinoa I-I can't restrain my thirst for much longer.... your blood is so sweet" I whisper and she giggles.
"Drink Yuari.. please" So full of self-hate I bite down and sink my fangs in and drink. My mouth explodes with the taste of her sweet succulent blood. Hers is on par with Krul's blood and I drink until I can bear the thirst again but so that she can still stand strong and she's panting. I take my mouth off and lick the remaining blood that trickles from the little holes and then back away accidentally kicking a chair.
"Goddammit I said I didn't want to do that and that I wouldn't and yet here I am. I'm so weak... I'm sorry....." She smiles and walks closer to me.
"I said I wanted you to and I said I'd love it if you did and you still hate yourself for it? See? You're not a monster if you feel guilty for doing it but it was amazing."
"Your blood... I-I've never has anything so sweet and succulent. Krul's is like a sweet tart flavoring and yours is like sweetened coffee with creamer. I-I couldn't restrain.... I'm sorry." I slump against the wall and close me eyes. She takes this as a chance to surprise me so she sits in my lap and hugs me.
"I'm glad I saved you Yuari."
"You shouldn't be. I'm not worth it." I reply emotionlessly.
She sighs and keeps hugging me and I eventually cave and hug her back allowing myself to be engulfed in the warmth. 'It's a nice feeling... so warm and happy. I feel like I could just drift away and never worry.' I think for a moment and then I snap out of it. 'Yuari what the hell are you thinking?! She doesn't like you and you just took advantage of her by using her to drink from. You're a monster and you don't deserve love.' I stand up and look down sadly. Shinoa is smiling brightly while looking up at me.
"Shinoa... Why did you force me into drinking your blood? I'm a monster. I don't deserve love or kindness or compassion. You should've let me die." For the first time in thousands of years a tear escaped my eye and she looks sad and angry at me.
"YOU ARE NOT A MONSTER ALRIGHT?! You're not.... I-I don't think you are and I wouldn't have offered my blood to anyone but you..." She then changes to a mutter thinking I can't hear, "I think I'm falling for you is the reason..." her voice then kicks back up. "You're not a monster and I'll do whatever it takes to prove it."
I am blushing like hell but I sigh, "You can try to prove it but I don't think you'll be able t-" I'm cut off by a warm soft feeling on my lips and I'm confused at first and I realize that it's a kiss and I blush and she pulls back before I could react and giggles.
"Does that prove it? I've never done that to anyone not even my own kind..." She blushes.
I'm blushing like hell, "Fine. It proves it. I feel more comfortable drinking from you now okay? Happy? You have successfully defeated the first progenitor in your little game."
She laughs, "It's not a game and I found that to be a good experience because you're the one that did it."
I sigh, "I'm going to get killed for this. Do you realize that's the first time I've ever broken a promise? I'm ashamed. I should've let myself die instead of breaking my promise to you."
"No, I wanted you to and you said I wouldn't have to worry about it. I didn't worry about it, I enjoyed it and I kinda forced you so you kept your promise. Besides you'd be useless dead. On top of the fact that people care about you. You can't really afford to die."
"Neither can you." I smile and hug her kissing the top of her head making sure she can't tell if I love her or if it was an affectionate fatherly thing. She blushes immensely guessing the first option and I pick her up and lay her in bed. "I'll be right back. I'm going to get you some juice so you replenish blood." With that I zoom to the juices. 'I loved her blood but that's not the only thing about her I love... she's kind and sweet and caring and she's fearless and strong, got a good sense of humor. She and Krul really know how to get in my head...' I grab her favorite kind of juice (telepathic knowledge) and rush back to her leaving only a gust of wind behind and I hand her the sweet, strawberry juice.
Her eyes light up as she takes the juice and her face displays happiness and satisfaction as the flavors erupt into her mouth. "This is my favorite. How'd you know?"
I chuckle, "I have my ways." I say while tapping my temple. I then sit in the floor and stare off into space.
  "Yuari, come up here with me please..." Shinoa says. So I obey and I'm soon taken down so that I'm laying and being cuddled and the covers us both up and smiles. She buries her face in my chest and closes her eyes, clenching her hands in the fabric of my shirt back. "Thank you." She says.
  "No need" I smile and hold her so she's comfortable and think. 'There's no way she actually likes me, it's gotta be from the blood she lost. Maybe she's confused... no matter. We'll find out soon enough I guess.' She and I both drift off to sleep in each other's embrace peacefully.
