She walks out, her mascara in strikes down her face and smudged around her eyes.
I finally understand why people say they look like panda's, the next morning.
Sarah and I look between each other, then look back the girl, who is still crying silently. I move away from the door, walking towards the girl. She just looks at me, her face breaking down even further.
I don't say anything, instead I wrap my arms around her, hoping that my actions would bring her some comfort. Make her feel less alone, I feel her shaking in my arms, I know she still hasn't stopped crying.
"It's okay, you're going to be okay". I say, while rubbing her back. She pulls away from me and gives me a small smile "Thank you". She says in a broken voice, I smile at her in return and lead her to the sink.
Turning on the tap I let's the water run, while I walk back to the stall and pull out some tissue and wet it, handing it to her. She wipes off her now ruined make up.
Once she done she throws the tissues in the disposal bin. She walks up to Sarah now, Sarah is looking at me confused, neither of us know why.
She stops in front of sarah and hugs her, Sarah returns the gesture.
"Would you like to come with us, we're going to Abbey's house? Or is there anyone we could call for you, that can come to pick you up?". Sarah asks her, her hands are holding the other girls.
It's then I realised we don't know anything at all about this girl. Who is she? Why was she crying?
To it's own accord I voice my thoughts, both of them looking at me now.
The girl opens her mouth, but then close it again."My name's Lacey, I was crying because of my boyfriend, my ex-boyfriend". She whispers.
"Okay". I nod.
Sarah is the next to question her " was that who was banging on the door, while you were crying?". Lacey nods to her question.
Clearly we can't leave Lacey here, who knows what state of mind her ex boyfriend is in and what if he comes back. My last thought fills my entire body with dread.
"Okay, well you're coming with us". I say in a final tone while I walk towards the door, patiently waiting for the both of them to follow which they do.
We walk out to where all the noise and swarms of sweaty bodies are l, as soon as we reach the exit for the club, I call a taxi, giving them my address. I know if we go to Sarah's place there are going to be a list of questions that we'd have answer and I know that everyone at home will be asleep.
Once the taxi pulls up, someone comes running out of the club, shouting Laceys name, I glance back at the boyish guy, without thinking I push her in the taxi first then, I tell Sarah to go in.
Before I can get in myself the guy reaches our taxi, looking at him, I initially see why Lacey may have stayed with him.
Even though he's completely plastered there's a certain appeal to him but there's also a darkness within him, a danger that seems it'll overtake the good in him, part of him reminds me of my father. All the stories my mum has told me about him when they were both younger.
Shaking off my thoughts I begin to get into the taxi, once I'm inside I roll down the window, it is now raining ever so slightly turn to the guy outside and say
"You and Lacey are finished if I ever see you near her again I'll call the police". He just laughs at my words, a menacing laughter.I tell the driver to go and Lacey turns her head to look out the back window, I do the same. The look etched on his face now, you can clearly see that he's the type of person who would cause you pain and hurt, in the name of 'love'.
