"Summer!!" you called out, jumping out of your bed. It was the very first day of summer and the end of the school year. You had so many plans, but you didn't know where to start. You ran downstairs to the kitchen, where your father was making breakfast. "Morning dad!" you smile, looking in the fridge.
"Morning pumpkin seed." he laughed. "Did you have a good sleep?" he asked.
"Yes. Without a doubt, that was the best sleep I've had in a long time." you smile, walking over to him.
"I'm glad." he stopped cooking for a moment, before grabbing your head in his elbow and knuckling the top of your head, messing up your (Y/H/L) (Y/H/C).
"Dad!" you giggle, trying to pull away. He chuckled and let go.
"So... Did you have one of your silly plans for today?" he asked.
"I think I'm going to go on a mysterious creature hunt in the forest today." You smile. You take one of those positions that made you look like a professional planner. "Maybe I can find some pixies or dryads..." you contemplate.
"Well, I would start before it gets dark. Wouldn't want any of those evil creatures to get you." he teased.
"You mean like Baba Yaga?" you laughed. "Although it would be cool to see that." you muttered quietly to yourself. Your father shrugged not really caring about what you just said.
"Alright. Just be safe." he smiled turning back to cooking.
"I will." you said skipping to the door, grabbing your bag and slipping on your shoes. You open the door and run down the road to the forest near by.
~~~~~9 Hours Later~~~~~
It was just starting to get dark, but you decided that you would be fine if you stayed a little longer. You had found a small pond that caught your attention. You took out a couple notebooks and sketchbooks and begin your work. You caught the vision of the cat-tails and lily-pads, noting that this would be the perfect place to find pixies or fairies. Opening your note book, you didn't notice that the sun had passed the line of trees, making it darker.
"Just one moment more." you muttered to yourself, jotting down a few notes. With a snap of the wrist, you shut the notebook and tied it up with the sketchbook, pencils and pens. You place them in your bag and swiftly pick yourself up, walking back home.
A crescent moon lit up the night sky as you walked through the forest. You were nearly at the edge when you heard heavy footsteps behind you. You stopped and a smile grew on your face. You swiftly moved behind a tree and peeked out, looking to where the steps were coming from.
When you did, you saw a very large figure walking passed. You smirk placing your bag down and pulling out your sketchbook. You start sketching the best you could. You let out a slight giggle but soon regretted it.
The large figure turned to your direction revealing a pair of glowing red and eyes. You gasp, packing your stuff and trying to get up as quickly as possible. You were able to get away a little before you tripped on a protruding root.
The figure approached you, towering over you. "How cute. They always run." It growled. The voice sent shivers down your spine, but you didn't want to show your fear. You turned to face the figure seeing a large black troll. You force a smile.
"H-hi..." You chuckle nervously. "I-I'm (Y/N)." The troll looked at you with nothing but shock. "Um... Wh-who are you you."
He stands up straight, looking down to you. "Your not afraid?" he growled.
"Heh... uh... my joy usually outweighs my fear. Or just my unusual weirdness.." You rant extremely nervous.
The troll huffs, and steps back. He starts to turn around and walk away before you get up and stop him. "Wait... Where are you going?" You ask.
"I've lost my appetite." he growled walking away.
"What?!" you asked, nearly yelling in shock. He turned back to you with a smirk. "Oh wait... Your a troll. Trolls eat humans... I'm a doofus." you face palm while smiling slightly.
The large troll looked at you with curiosity. 'she's a smart one.' he thought to himself. "What else do you know?" he asked, walking closer to you, crouching closer your height.
You blush slightly, feeling an overwhelming amount of confidence. You loved sharing your knowledge about mythical creature.
"Well..." you take your notebook and sketchbook out of your bag opening it. "I've been studying this aria for... my whole life... and I've found so much to prove that mythical creatures exist." You start to rant and ramble, excited to share everything.
The large troll watched you with contentment, not pealing his eyes off you. You eventually pulled out your sketchbook and scooched closer to show him your drawings. He looks to you surprised, but with a slight smile.
As you kept going the moon reached mid-sky. It was midnight. You look up, getting a bad feeling. "Oh shoot!!!" You started to swear under your breath. as you packed up your books. "I need to go. My dad must be sooo worried." you get up.
The troll got up as well. "I-I'm sorry uh..." you sigh. "I never actually got your name." You looked at him slightly disappointed.
He smiled with a toothy grin. "Bular." You blush slightly, smiling back.
"Th-thank you... Bular. I hope I can see you again." You smile turning to go back home.
Bular chuckled. "That would be... nice." He said, having a hard time saying the last word.
You nod and start walking off. You arrive at your home and took a deep breath in reaching for the door handle...
