I waited at the bus stop on a fall monday morning. School starts today and I just want to go back to sleep but I promised myself that this year I was going to pull it together.
My earbuds were blaring my playlist of The Cab while I waited for the bus. I was standing by myself when I saw a tall figure walk out of a thin wall of fog. I've never seen this man before but he had on a backpack and looked about my age. He was tall with an athletic build, broad sholders and raven black hair that hung over one of his eyes. I pieced together that he moved in to the house a few away from my house.
When he finally made it to the bus stop I pulled out my earbuds and said " Hey " deciding I was going to try and be nice.
" Hi. "
" Im Arleny. "
" Dimitri. "
" Did you just move in to the house at the end of the street? "
" Yeah. " He grabed his earbuds from his pocket and put them in telling me this conversation was over.
After 5 minutes the bus finally came in to view around the corner. When I got on I went straight to my seat in the back. The bus was full of mostly seniors like me. I 've known some of these people my entire life so thay didn't bother me when I went to my seat in the back. I looked around and saw Dimitri staring at me with amusement in his eyes. I rasied my eyebrows in confusion right as the bus was t- boned by a semi truck.
I went right, left, up and down. I felt the glass from the windows embed themselves in the skin on my arms legs and face. My arm and ribs are broken and the whole left side of my body is detroyed. The truck hit the back of the bus on my side. I was scared but also confused because all the while the bus was rolling I never broke eye contact with Dimitri and his amused stare until everything went white then the same color black as his hair.
