ABBY'S P.O.V
It's the day before my 8th birthday when the phone rings. I go to get my daddy "daddy someone is on the phone" i say. "ok" he says taking the phone "yes... oh... i see... thanks for calling" he says sadly. "what's wrong daddy" i ask he looks at me worried. "baby girl i dont know how to say this but... your going deaf" he says. "w-what" i say starting to cry. "it'll be ok... we'll get threw this together sweety... we always do" he says hugging me i cry into him. Then the phone rings again "yes... what... are you kidding me - starts breaking down in tears- n-no this can't be happening... how long do i have left... ok... you too" says my daddy he sat on the couch and put his head in his hands. i walked over and snuggled into him "daddy? whats wrong?" i say. "i have cancer baby... i might die... they dont know how long i have... i have to go to the doctor for more testing... i'm sorry baby" he says between sobs. "daddy i'm gonna go get the mail now" i say trying to hide my tears. I walk outside and go to the mail box and check the mail i try seeing who they were from most were bills but one was from a lady named ashley mckenny. I walk inside "daddy whose ashley mckenny" i ask once i got into the living room. "what" he says standing up, "she sent us a letter daddy.. who is she" i say worriedly "let me see this letter baby" he says bending down. i hand him the letter and his eyes widen "honey ashley mckenny is your mother... she wants to see you... the question is do you want to meet her?" he asked me petting my hair "i don't know daddy... was she nice" i ask "well yes but we didn't always aggree so she left a couple months after you were born" he says "oh" i say "do you think i should" i ask "i don't know... i dont want you to be upset from who you see when you meet her" he says "i'll be ok daddy... i think i want to meet my mommy" i say "ok i'll take you there next weekend... but honey your mom got remarried... and there's something i haven't told you" he says "what daddy" i ask... what was he hiding from me "you have a twin... your mom took her when she left her name is gabby" he says "why didn't she take me" i ask... did mommy not love me i thought "i don't know sweety but i'm glad she didn't i needed you around to make me feel better" he says "i love you daddy" i cried "i love you too baby... i love you too" he says
