Nicole sat on a root of a giant tree located in Phoenix Drop. She was still getting used to being back, as this was only the third time visiting since her son, Dmitri was born. Though she would not be talking to Dante more than needed, and even when it was, she was biting her tongue. She did enjoy getting time off being a lord, though, and the visits also made Dmitri happy, so it wasn't a waste. Hearing steps coming closer, Nicole assumed to see Aphmau when she turned, but instead saw Dante. Her soft expression turned stern.

"Nicole, we need to talk," Dante said in a soft voice, running his fingers through his royal blue hair.

"I'm not stopping you," The auburn haired woman said coldly and looked at her son who was playing with his half sister. Dante sighed.

"Somewhere else," he said, sounding slightly hesitant. Nicole looked back at him, seeing his extended hand. Instead of taking his hand, she stood up by herself, making Dante awkwardly laugh.

"Lead the way then."

The pair stopped in the middle of the forest between Phoenix Drop and old Meteli, after a few minutes of walking in awkward silence.

"So," Nicole said, waiting for Dante to say what he wanted to talk about.

"Right... Nicole, you need to stop this petty crap," Dante said. Nicole looked at him, squinting her eyes. "You're an adult, for Irene's sake! You need to talk with me! I know that I seriously messed up in the past, and for that, I am truly sorry, but-"

"No," Nicole interrupted. Dante stared blankly at her.

"...What?"

"You're not sorry. You never were. Fucking hell, Dante. You moved on so quickly! Kawaii~Chan and I basically got pregnant around the same time! I left, and immediately you're with another woman! That is not something you can make up with a measly 'sorry'," Nicole was holding back tears. She'd been holding back her anger for so long.

"I know, Nicole, I really do. I was desperate, it was stupid... But Dmitri is still my son! I had the right to know about him!" Dante said, trying not to loose his cool.

"I LOVED YOU DANTE! I LOVED YOU WITH MY WHOLE HEART, BUT YOU REPLACED ME LIKE I WAS NOTHING TO YOU! DMITRI MIGHT BE YOUR SON, BUT HE IS ALSO MINE! IF YOU WOULDN'T CARE ABOUT ME, HOW COULD I KNOW YOU WOULD CARE AVOUT HIM?!" Nicole snapped, tears now escaping her sorrow filled eyes. Her chest was rapidly moving up and down as she tried to calm her breathing. Dante grabbed her hands.

"Nic, I know, I betrayed your trust. But I love you too, I really do. But i thought that I completely fucked up the night you left. I didn't think you were ever coming back, so let myself loose. I'm not baking you for anything, though you should have still told me about Dmitri. You abandoned us at Phoenix Drop. None of your people came, no ravens, no nothing. I miss you Nicole, I really do. I miss your presence here in Phoenix Drop. I miss us," Dante put two fingers under Nicole's chin, lifting her head to face him. The lord of Scaleswind then buried her face in the blue haired man's neck, sobbing furiously and punching his stomach, not caring that her hands were hitting the hard metal of his amour.

"You're. Such. A. Fucking. Idiot," she choked out in between sobs and punches. Dante wasn't faced by her punches, as they were weakened due to her state of mind. Calmly, he embraced the enraged woman. Nicole slowly calmed down, though she was still crying into the crook of his neck. Dante stroked Nicole's auburn locks of hair in an attempt to calm her down. The Phoenix Drop guard felt his former lover's head turn. "... Why did we even fight, Dante? What went wrong..?"

Dante thought for a little while. "I honestly don't remember. Knowing us, it was probably something fucking ridiculous," he said softly. Nicole giggled softly, and pulled herself out of Dante's embrace. Carefully, the blue eyes man wiped away Nicole's tears, both of them sending each other sad smiles. "Listen, Nicole... I... I still love you, but-"

"But you also love Kawaii~Chan. I get it. I don't want to ruin your family, Dante. I just wish thing maybe could have been different... I know, it's crazy... But that's not why I'm here... Dmitri... He needs a father figure, and you've been great at that... I mean, obviously. The kid loves you, and he loves it here. I want nothing more than him being happy, and if that means I need to stay here, so be it. I don't want to ruin your family with my presence, but I guess us two will have to get along for this to work," Nicole paused and laughed quietly to herself before continuing. "I wish the circumstances were better, but this is the world we live in. There's no alternate world where we live happily ever after, and I've come to terms with that. I don't want to cut you out Dante, I never wanted that, but I knew it would be too painful to see you again... I didn't want to be reminded of the pain..."

Dante smiled. "I don't want you to be here with only painful memories, but that doesn't need to be the case. Nicole, we can talk, make new memories. Yes, it isn't like before, but at least you won't have to hide yourself here. Nekoette likes you, and Kawaii~Chan trust me to not act on anything. You're always welcome at our home, and you should feel no guilt over being there," Nicole nodded slowly.

"That would be nice..." she spoke softly, looking Dante straight in the eye.

"For old times sake..." Dante muttered and grabbed Nicole's hips, pulling her in to a short and sweet kiss.
