You’ve heard of yellow snow, you’ve heard of black snow, but get ready for RED SNOW!  Leo thought to himself as he looked at the small blotch of red in the snow. There was a trail of it leading to his fence. He decided to follow the trail.

Let’s rewind to before he saw the snow. He was going to a birthday party for a close friend of his. Leo felt more than friendship for said friend though. It was more of a warm and fuzzy feeling. The air always felt warmer around the friend and today was the day he was going to confess his feelings for him.

He got ready, grabbed the present that he thought that friend would like, and headed out the door. As he was walking to his car, he saw the red snow. Now we’re in the present.

Leo pressed the gift closer to his chest and followed the trail. The red was gradually lessening but it was still there. It looked like whoever was bleeding hopped over the fence instead of opening the gate. What a damned delinquent.

Leo opened the gate and continued following the trail. It lead into the woods behind his backyard.

“Is it a good decision to chase after some bleeding maniac who won’t use the gate? Especially one hour before the party starts? No. Will I chase that maniac anyways because I’m a curious little asshole? Hell yeah.” Leo headed into the forest.

It had been a few minutes since he had went into the oh-so-spooky woods behind his house and he was already freaked out.

There were dead woodland creatures hung from the trees with signs carved into their stomachs and foreheads. Leo was used to seeing dead animals, considering he usually killed animals for fun, but this was fucking freaky.

The red, which was probably blood, made a big comeback and was now smeared all over the trees. There was less snow in that area so the blood stuck out against the frosted grass like a pony in a pop band.

The sky was getting darker. Maybe I should head back. Thought our dearest protagonist. Nah, I’ll stick around. Leo went deeper into the forest, still following the blood path.

It soon lead to a bonfire where cloaked figures stood. They faced towards Leo. One of the figures stepped forward and took off their mask. Leo gasped softly. It was…

“Leo! I’m so glad that you could make it to my b-day party/initiation! Sorry that we started without you. Katana suggested that we start early.” Canada said. One of the still masked people stepped forward and handed Can a cloak and a mask. Leo smiled.

“It’s fine. I’m just glad I could be here for it. Oh! Here’s your gift. I almost forgot about it.” They traded things quickly. Leo slid the sleek cloak on over his head and pulled on his mask. Can smiled and unwrapped the gift. It was the skull of a mouse. Can blushed. The skull of a mouse meant a proposal of love. No, not marriage you fool. It was basically like asking someone out.

Can nodded with a small smile on his face. He slid his mask back on and the ritual began.
