Luce had to get to Kase. Had to.

Soon.

She knew he was in trouble, had to be, he hadn't been home in two whole days.  Not like her younger brother to be so reckless...he knew very well the dangers for a civilian vampire to run about the streets of London with the hunters out...and those damn Aristocratic Vampire Police, known as the AVP.  In the old days they were supposed to protect all vampires, back then being known as the Absolute Vampire Protective service. But now, hell, they were as bad as the hunters. Luce cursed, her feet making pitter-patter noises as she ran through the filthy wet streets.  If she found out he was hurt in any way shape or form, she would live only to hunt and kill the one who did it.

Her strength and speed were not lacking, as the belief goes here in the darkness of the streets, though they come from a darker history, their instincts bear witness to a unlit city.

Pit-Pat, pit-pat-pit-pat.....

Luce continued to convince herself he was alive, had to be, he was her only family left, he was her younger brother, her friend, someone she'd protect with her life.

And...

Things just started getting better.  Luce had managed to learn how to blend in with the humans, accessing herself a job at a local candy store, and just one more earning of money and they'd leave that wretched shit-hole of a motel they were living in, one that had as many holes as cocroaches, and just as many prostitutes. Running, was all she could do, something she'd never think she'd have to do again, at least not without Kase by her side.  But this time she wasn't running from anyone.

It was a good thing she hadn't took a breath in four years, because as much as she was running she'd be damn well passed out by now. Yes, four years since her and Kase were turned.  Unlike some who were born, they were once humans.

Pit-pat-pit-pat...

" 'OLD it!" called a voice.  She didn't  give a damn who it was and didn't even stop to look back.  But of coarse, he'd find his way around that, wouldn't he?

"I said STOP."

Luce fell down on the street into a puddle as Gregory Fisher appeared promptly and swiftly before her, holding out his gloved hand in the halt position.

Luce blew  dark brunette hair off her face and proceeded to stand back up. she growled, and glared at Gregory.

"No time officer!"

Gregory Fisher was the Chief commander of AVP, with his middle aged appearance and rough skin, his bug-eyed glasses and pipe, he looked at her curiously, only to smirk and pull out that terrifying weapon as she began to run again, barely making it ten feet . Instead of normal guns, they used one that when shot, it's bullets were a blazing light ball of UV rays, the size of a pea, that exploded into a light that filled your surrounding area for ten seconds, causing you great burning pain.

"Ahhhh !" Luce screamed in agony as she felt her skin fall prey to the burning hot sensation.  Every second was like a light year. But still, all she could think of was Kase...Where was he? was he okay? was he....alive? who took him? why?

As the light died away, Gregory Fisher marched up to her and grabbed her forcefully by the wrist.

"Listen vermin, we can do this the easy way or the hard.  Honestly..." his face softened..."I just wanted to know what your doing running around so suspiciously. are you...stealing?" he eyed her like she was dirt then, no longer a speck of sympathy in his brown eyes.

"No you idiot I'm looking for my brother Kase! He's disappeared!"  Luce scowled, flashing her razor teeth. She was furious, ready to rip his entrails  out with her fangs on the damn streets.

He tilted his head, and tapped a forefinger to his brow, as if thinking."Yes...Kase I recognize that name somewhere..."

"WHERE IS HE?" demanded Luce, flinging her fists out to her sides.  That was it, she was going to kill this prick. Never in her life had she been a troublesome character for the AVP.  She always tried her best to keep her and Kase in line for them, which was like walking on eggshells.  But today, was a different story.

He them twitched his upper lip, clearly offended, and grabbed her by the neck, peering into her violet eyes as if searching her very soul. "Filthy little thing, arn't you?  He's in jail for thievery of a noble woman... my,  I bet you make a lovely living selling your-"

He never got to finish that sentence.

Luce pulled the hunter's dagger from her sheath beneath her skirt, and stabbed him straight through the stomach.

"I said I don't have time ...officer."
