Everyone was shocked at the events. 3 dead bodies laid before them, Joshua, Jun and Minghao, all gone. Most of them could barely register what happened, but they all lost it. Vernon and Seokmin wanted to deny what happened, they wanted to believe it was just a dream while Jihoon accepted everything, there wasn’t any point to keep fighting a war they would never win. He was ready to go down. The 3 of them didn't talked to each other, when two others appeared.
Mingyu and Jeonghan had stumbled upon the basement and the passage, and now they saw 3 of their friends dead and 3 others who might of well been dead. They stared, no words needed to be communicated to understand this situation, and now both groups had join together.
It was an horrible situation. They couldn’t leave this place and death was only option, it seemed.
“Should we just….” Vernon stood up and took the knife out of Minghao’s body, “follow them?”
They knew it was a bad option, they knew doing that would be the worst decision of their lives, but they would be lying if part of them wanted to commit. Seokmin was against this even if he did want to do it, so was Mingyu. The others were half and half, but their was some small bit of hope that still rested inside of them and told them that they could survive, that the answer to escaping would come soon.
One of them couldn't wait until the party started.
Empty, that was what they all felt. Friends have died within this hellhole, if they did escape what would they do, what would happen to them. The outside world seemed far away at this point. Vernon put the knife down, wanting to wait until someone joined him. He was too afraid to commit without someone else.
Two figures appeared out of nowhere. They looked identical to each other. Cold, blue eyes, black thigh-high robes, black pants, black runners and a black long sleeve shirts, black bandanas, and black hair. The only difference was the weapons that they held, one had a sword and one had an axe.
They forced the survivors up against the back of the room. The door was straight ahead of them. They wanted to climb the staircase, but something prevented them. A magical barrier.
“When did this house become magical?” Seokmin questioned, this house had too many secrets. The killers stopped walking towards them once they were at the back of the room. They just stood there waiting for instructions for a certain someone. Everyone was confused, except for one.
“What the fuck is happening?” Jun whispered.
"God damn it, you're suppose to kill them off idiots"
Mingyu walked towards the killers with no hesitation, he looked calm which was quite a contrast from before.
“I am confused” Jihoon spoke up.
“Well...”Mingyu pondered for a bit. “I kinda killed everyone, but didn't really” Everyone was left feeling confused and hurt. One of their friends had set up this up and it hurt alot.
“You fucking planned this...YOU FUCKING KILLED OUR FRIENDS” Jeonghan exclaimed
“Well, first off, I didn't know my plan would come into action. Second, I didn't technically kill them, they did” Mingyu pointed to the figures.
“Your plan relied on luck, you basically had to hope that something bad happened exactly on that road and hope we would go into the house. Damn, that's a pretty bad plan if half of the events relied on luck” Seokmin said. “But you did kinda kill them”.
“Here's a situation then: A guy called John was the CEO of a company, one day he went to a coffee shop where he witnessed a murder. The person killed was called Ben, Ben was another CEO of a bigger company. Now John knew that someone would get killed at this cafe, but he didn’t know who was going to get killed or when. Now would John be a murderer?”
This led them to think it over, John didn't actually kill anyone, but he did know that someone would be killed. It was confusing and you could easily argue either way. Right now they weren't in the mood and they were pretty sure that they just wanted answers, not more questions. Mingyu seemed to understand.
“Anyway, why are you fucking doing this?” Jihoon asked almost pleaded.
“You mean my motive?” Mingyu asked
“yeah”
“Do I need a motive to pick up a knife and kill people? No, murderers kill people not for revenge for their family or some stupid Hollywood bullshit. They kill because they're insane” It was a simple answer, but not the one they wanted. They were still left with questions, but staying here wouldn't help them find the answers. Mingyu just seemed out of reach, there wasn’t a way they could negotiate with him without wanting to snap his neck.
Mingyu sighed, “So I'm pretty sure you don't want to stay here anymore and I don't feel like killing all of you even if it would be easy, but this is a game and games have winners, so we are going to play a mini-game to see of are the winners of the actual game” Jeonghan, Seokmin, Vernon and Jihoon were scared and kinda upset at this, they couldn’t believe Mingyu.
“So, have you heard of the game 'Octopus'?” Mingyu receive confused stares. “Ok then, basically you guys have to run from here to the door without being caught. If you get caught, you die. If you reach the door and exit, you win.” the doors suddenly open, showing the outside world and giving the others hope. Mingyu went over to Minghao’s body and pick up the knife, blood was all over it, but Mingyu didn’t seem to mind it.
He stood in the middle of the room with his two servants by his side, ready for some action.
“When I say ‘octopus’ you run for the door! good luck” Mingyu whisper the last part with a murderous smile. He couldn’t wait to finally gut someone. The others got ready, but were nervous and wondered what was the point of doing this if they would just get killed, they were playing a dangerous game.
“Octopus!”
