Me, Robert, and Kristy were walking down the street. "We need to keep a lookout for that guy, he could potentially be dangerous." Said Kristy. Me and Robert nodded in response. We continued walking down the road, and finally came across where we left Blair and Matt. They were nowhere to be found. I am starting to get worried... I mean.... Would if the Insanities got them? They are stronger than that, right? I hope... We continued into the building, when Robert had to go to the washroom. He leaves me and Kristy to occupy ourselves. Less than a minute later, a loud, girly scream came from the bathroom.
Me and Kristy run after Robert, when I see him. He runs out of the bathroom, hands over his mouth, and eyes wide like he saw a ghost. Matt runs out of the bathroom with Blair, and she says "We ran into some Insanities, no biggie." Robert adds "Yeah, I was going to the washroom when I saw some Insanities, and Blair came running in to help. Dunno why Robert ran out." The four of us continue down the hallway, yelling for Robert. I see him sitting on the ground, pointing past me. I look where he is pointing, only to see Blair and Matt. They look behind them and yell "RUN!" We all run down and out of the building, when I see Blair and Matt give Robert a dirty look. Moments after, the trio begins laughing.
"There was no Insanities, was there?" I ask. They just laugh even louder. Blair is laughing so hard that she begins to cry. "Not funny guys." Kristy says. "The Insanities used to be people, our friends, our family. They kill people. We can't just make jokes on possibly life or death situations. This could have been bad." Blair and Matt look at each other, but continue laughing. "Anyone want a drink?" She asks. I nod my head, as do the others. She finds a fridge, and pulls out a jug of water. When she takes the lid off, the jug slips onto the floor and the contents spill everywhere. She immediately looks towards Matt, who sighs. They had apparently been close before the Insanities had started. They had probably taken over the world by now.
Who knows. Maybe we are the only ones left? That thought made me shiver.
I hear a sound come from behind me, and I immediately grab obliteration. I pull it out of the holster on my belt, and blindly shoot into the abyss of darkness that lies behind us. I see a body get electrocuted, then dissipate into ash. "RUN!" I yell. Hopefully they don't think it is a joke this time. I begin to run, when Blair laughs, "Nice try, but you can't fool us." I looked her dead straight in the eye, and said "Believe me or not, there are at least five Insanities behind us, so I suggest you run before you loose your head. Understand?" She looks afraid, and meekly nods her head. She takes a couple steps, but disappears into the darkness.
"NOOOOO!" I hear Matt yell. I guess he saw it too. He falls to his knees, instantly unaware of the Insanities gathering close behind us. I grab him by his shirt, and pull him out. My legs are numb, almost unable to carry me any further. We get to the roof, and I trip and fall past the door, when it shuts behind me and Matt. He is sobbing on the ground, clutching something tightly in his hand. He opens hid hand, and holds a necklace to his face. He begins to sob even more, while Kristy and Robert barricade the door. I fall to my knees in defeat, we just lost a teammate after all. Her last words were 'Nice try, but you can't fool us.' Maybe she was trying to tell us something. Wait a second... This is the roof we all met. There is a loud pounding sound coming from the door, probably the Insanities.
I only hear one set of fists though, not the five Insanities I saw earlier, when it stops. I hear that same girly scream from earlier, and when I turn around, Robert is nowhere to be seen. Me and Kristy head down to hug Matt, but he shrugs us off. He grabs his jetpack, and flies off to where he thinks Robert must have been taken. I hear a faint "Help..." Before a thump coming from the barricaded door. Me and Kristy immediately get to work, removing all the barricades before seeing a crippled, lifeless body laying on the ground. It resembles a young female. No... Blair is gone for sure, and who knows what is happening to Robert right now. I hear thumping coming from the stairs, and me and Kristy barricade the door as quickly as possible. I hug her, and she hugs back, and we cry.
