Chapter 1

“I love you…”

As I held my girlfriend's lifeless body, the black hand that struck her disappeared. She was the first human girl I met that was nice to me. The first girl I ever loved. Her auburn hair, wet by the rain, laid perfectly over her shoulder and side of her face. Water beads trailed down her tanned skin. Her once pale blue eyes showed nothing but a dull grey color. Her cream colored soul hovered over her body before breaking in half and shattering into pieces.

Her killer had vanished but I knew exactly where he went, Ebott, Mount Ebott. The mountain us monsters were imprisoned in for thousands of years. I walked home in the rain. I had to check on my soul. The once vibrant rainbow color is now duller with black cracks forming in the center. I grabbed what I could and walked towards the mountain but I'm stopped by my soul turning green. I hate when I can't control my soul but it knows what's best. I need to show kindness to them, even if they don’t deserve it. I started running and my mind just blanked. I don't know where I ran to. I just ran. I was pulled out of my stupor when a familiar voice called out to me. "Heya kiddo, need some help?" It was my uncle Sans.

"N-no I'm fine," I lie. I felt a skeletal hand pull me into the car.

"Now, don't lie to me. What's on ya mind, kid?" I took a look at myself in the rearview mirror. My green eyes were bloodshot and red from crying. My long, red hair was a mess and probably tangled to no end. My purple shirt was torn and showing my white fur under it and my blue jeans were really dirty. "Heya kid, ya listening?"

I snapped out of my daze and turned to him, "No. Sorry, uncle." He smiled and nudged me.

"I said that you should tell your dad. He might understand." I nodded and looked out the window only to see that we were outside of my house. I hugged uncle Sans one more time. He told me, "It ain't nothin" and drove off.

I walked into the house to see my dad, Asgore and my other dad, Gaster. Asgore had a worried expression and Gaster looking at me sternly. "Son, where were you? You had us wor-" he cut himself off when I broke down crying. "D-Dad, it happened," I cried. Dad hugged me. "Just get ready for school tomorrow."

-Morning-

As I got dressed, I seen something I haven't seen in ages, my FNAF jacket. The light brown jacket had a pair of bear ears on the hood. It was the jacket that was bought for me right after I was adopted. A smile found its way to my face as I recalled the events.

"Hey, I'm Asgore, and this is my husband Gaster."  The tall goat-man says with a smile on his face. He wore a pink shirt with yellow flowers and tan pants with mud stains on the knees, and some old tennis shoes. His long, golden hair matched the color of the flowers on his shirt. Next to him was a skeleton with a big crack above his right eye socket and below his left. The skeleton was wearing a fitted, beige turtleneck, black pants flecked with golden specks and black dress shoes. "We're here to adopt you,” the goatman said. “What's your name?"

"D-Drake," I replied shakily.

"Well," the skeleton began, "would you like to come with us?" He offered his hand and I looked at him. "S-Sure. J-Just let me grab my things." I grabbed a suitcase that the orphanage director gave to me and quickly packed my belongings. After I was ready and all of the paperwork was filled out, I left with the pair of monsters. My new dads.

We drove about 20 minutes before any of us spoke. "So,” Asgore drew out the word, “what are you interested in?" He was smiling and I found out rather quickly that his smile was contagious. "I'm into indie games. Five Nights At Freddy’s, or FNAF for short, Bendy and the Ink Machine, stuff like that." I paused, "I also like TØP, Twenty One Pilots, My Chemical Romance, Fall Out Boy, and Black Veil Brides. I don’t know if you know any of those bands but they’re awesome." "Ah, so your a rocker and an indie lover.” Asgore glanced at his husband. “Gaster you know of a few of those, right?" The skeleton nodded his head, "Yes, I know of quite a few of those bands and games. Any favorite colors or foods?" Gaster asked. I responded though I was fearful of their reactions. "I-I like the rainbow and chocolate..." Asgore let out a hearty laugh, "Why, is your favorite food chocolate cake?" I nodded my head. He smiled and pulled into a parking lot. As I got out I realized that it was the mall.

We went in and I was handed twenty dollars. "We'll keep an eye out for you but have fun. If you need us we'll be near the food court," Gaster says, holding Asgore’s hand. I nodded and made a b-line for Hot Topic. As I was glancing around I noticed something that caught my eye. A brown FNAF jacket with bear ears. “$10. I can get that.’ I thought to myself as I grabbed the jacket. I also saw a couple shirts that I liked and brought the items up to the register. I walked out of the store wearing the jacket and looked around for my new dads. I see them sitting at a table, both having tea. Asgore had golden flower and Gaster had Earl Grey. As I ran over they both gave me a warm smile. "Find everything you needed?" Goat Dad asked. I held up the bag that bore the logo of the store I was just in. "Yup. Thank you for taking me here!"

I snapped out of my memory as the bus approached. I guess I went through the motions of getting ready while I was having my flashback. I stepped onto the bus to see my best friend, Cora, waving at me enthusiastically. "Hey, where were you yesterday? I couldn't get ahold of you." That's right. My phone is at the bottom of the lake right now. "I-I got busy and stuff happened," I replied cautiously. I could tell she wanted to ask more but thankfully she doesn't and leaves me be for the rest of the ride.

When the bus pulled up to the school I asked to get off early. The bus driver, Mrs. Lavender, smiled, opened the door, and told me to have a good day. I gave my thanks and walked off, making my way inside the school building and towards the counselors office.

Today is gonna be a long day.
