She heard that he was the new kid.
She heard that they had taken him under their wing, since he fit their requirements. Sandy blonde hair. Hazel eyes. Freckles.
She heard that he came up from Florida with his older sister and father.
She heard that he was quiet. He didn't share his opinions often. He sat with them but didn't say anything. He kept to himself.
She heard that he had slept with four different girls so far. That he was a big player. A bad boy. She snorted.
She heard that he had problems as well. That his parents had split recently. That his mother was still in Florida. Along with his younger brother.
She heard that he was failing most of his classes. Some people heard he was being tutored after school in the library. But not for english.
She heard he was the cause of his parents divorce. Somehow, he made his parents make the decision to go there separate ways.
She heard that he could sing. Good sing. A deep, husky voice, tearing your heart in two.
She heard he carried a guitar everywhere he could. There was always a notepad sticking out of his backpack.
She heard he wrote his own songs. That he played the songs to no one.
She saw him tell them something, and walk in her direction.
He sat next to her. And she smiled.
