Maya’s POV
There I was, sitting in my best friend’s car. For the past year, she has been raving on about this group that placed third on X factor, for a year, she has been waiting to go to their concert, and I was lucky enough that she wanted me with her. I didn’t think I was so lucky. The thought of having to spend three useless hours listening to another boy band perform seemed like a waste of time. However, the idea of making my best friends last few months on earth special was an amazing feeling. Alice had been diagnosed with a terminal brain tumour five months ago. She was given a total of eight months to live, she only had three left. The last few months have been hard but I put on a brave face and dealt with every day as it came. As I looked out of the window, next to me Alice wide-awake and couldn’t wait to get there, Olly Murs, ‘Heart Skipped a Beat’ came on and we started to sing along laughing when we mucked the words up. If this is how the rest of the trip was going to be, I would be just fine.
After four horrible hours in the car, we were finally in London. As we drove up to the concert hall, we could hear girls screaming and cheering. The band had obviously arrived. As I looked out of the window, I saw girls of all sorts at the front door and it was only 6 am. Half an hour later, we finally found a parking space and Alice was anxious to get out of the car. We got out of the car and I was overwhelmed by how many people were standing outside. Alice grabbed my hand and started to pull me towards the doors. As we reached the front door and the huge crowd, my phone began to ring.
"Alice you go ahead and line-up, I’m going over hear and out of the crowd," I said, and then as I walked around the corner I picked up my phone.
"Hello," I answered, trying my best to block out the screaming and singing fans.
"Hey, Maya, its Alex, just wanted to call, to make sure you got there alright."
"Yeah we’re fine, why didn’t you call your sister or your mum?"
"Because I didn’t want to seem like a concerned brother," he replied, I could hear he was laughing.
"Yeah and this is so much better," As I said that a hooded figure bumped into me, making me drop my phone.
"Ow, I’m sorry," said the guy as he picked up my phone and as he handed it to me, his hood fell down. As I grabbed my phone and thanked him, I realized who it was; I froze because I had no clue what to say.
Louis’s POV
I walked out of the van and into the backdoor of the concert hall, we always had to be at concerts early, if we wanted to get in at all, without being trampled by screaming fans. Don’t get me wrong, love the fans but sometimes peace and quiet was good too, even though we never seemed to get it. I was following Harry into the dressing room and as I walked through the door into the dressing room, I checked my pocket for my phone but couldn’t find it anywhere.
"Damn it."
‘What’s up, Lou??" asked Harry.
"I lost my phone."
"Maybe you left it in the van?"
"Yeah maybe, I’ll go check and see if the van is still there."
As I ran out the door, I pulled up my hood and looked for the van but it was long gone, and I slowed down, but not in time to run into a girl, talking on her phone. As I reached down to pick up her phone I apologized, but in doing so my hood fell down. As I quickly put my hood back up, the girl said,
"Ow, thanks….you look familiar?" as she said this she looked at her phone to see if it was damaged.
"I should do, otherwise why would you be here, is your phone damaged, if it is I pay for a new one."
"No it’s fine, you know Nokia’s they are tough little phone’s and right, your one of the boys out of the band."
"Shhhhh, I don’t want to be run over by the fans."
"Ok, sorry." Then she turned to walk away.
As I grabbed her arm, "Hey, how come your not a screaming fan, usually this is when girls start to cry or even scream and why are you at the concert if you don’t even know what you are going to see, you don’t look very excited."
"Yeah, no offence but I don’t see the big deal; to me you’re just another boy band. I’m only here because my best friend invited me and I want to spend as much time as possible with her, but she’s excited to be here."
"None taken and I’ll have to meet this friend of your and find out why you don’t know what you’re here for, and why would you only be here for your friend."
"Sorry but I don’t know you very well, so I don’t really want to talk about it, if you get what I mean."
"Ow sorry, well I have to introduce myself properly," I said with a smile, "My name is Louis Tomlinson, I’m 20, I’m from Doncaster and I’m a member of One Direction. There you know me a bit better already."
"I guess," she said as a smile appeared on her face, "I better go, my friend is waiting for me." She turned but before she could…
"Hey wait what’s your name?"
"Maya, my name is Maya."
"Nice to meet you," I was hesitant to ask, but I knew if I didn’t I’d regret it, "Will I ever see you again?"
As she walked away, she turned and said, "I don’t know, we’ll have to wait and see."
As she walked of, I couldn’t help but think about her. She is the first person I’ve met at a concert that didn’t scream or run; it was nice to meet a person who didn’t do that for a change. I walked back through the door and into my dressing room to find Harry standing there with a smirk on his face and my phone in his hand.
"Lost something??" He said his smirk now twice as big.
"Why’d you take it??"
"Why not," he said, poking his tongue out.
I snatched the phone of him and started getting ready for the show.
