Again, Lucy shook Albert, trying to wake him up.
What was she supposed to do?
"Light and some fresh air, that's what we need," she whispered to herself.
There were 2 windows in the room, both of which had thick curtains above them, so thick that light just barely passed through.
She got up and made her way to the window, which was hard as she kept stumbling above things strewn across the floor.
She reached up and pulled the curtains back, filling the room with golden sun rays.
Slowly, she bent down and started to pick up the broken pieces of china, piling them up in the corner. She picked up clothes and folded them into neat piles too.
She was trying to distract herself, hoping he would wake up soon.
'If he didn't wake up within 15 minutes,' she thought, 'I'm calling an ambulance.'

She was Outside.
Zac was by her side.
It was so weird.
Everything was so weird.
The fact that a human, other than her father, was next to her was weird.
She looked at his profile, at the way his nose was slightly crooked, at his flawless white skin and cute eyebrows. She looked at his chest, rising and dropping. He was breathing. A living human was standing by her side.
And again, happiness flooded her, like a wave, starting from her stomach and reaching her mind.
She was free.
Free, free like the birds she used to listen to chirping in the morning, like the flowers dancing with the breeze.
Free.
"Earth to Luna."
She felt blood rushing to her cheeks; did he see her staring at him like that?
"Let's go. I want to go, Zac."
"Then we will go."
He reached out and took her hand in his, slightly tugging her forward.
But then, she froze.
"But, where to?"
"Oh, didn't I tell you? My apartment."
She thought of the detectives her father was going to hire but not where she was going to stay after she ran away.
'Smart, Luna, smart,' she thought.
"Your apartment? Where is it? Do you live alone?"
"Yes, its 10 minutes away by foot, and yes."
He tugged at her arm again but she didn't move.
"Luna...? Are you... are you scared of me?"Was she?
"Uh- no it's not that. But, uh-"
He stepped closer to her, so close their noses almost touched, and cupped her cheeks with his hands.
"Don't be scared of me Luna," he whispered, "I really want to help you."
Her thoughts were racing, clashing into each other inside her mind.
She has read enough books to know where this might go.
How did she not think of this.
But no, no. Zac can't be that type of guy, right?
