Beginning of the End

Roaring thunder... lightning sparks... howling wind... 

My skin, dry as it was, slowly began to moisturise under the merciful droplets of torrential rain. Yearning for water, I tilted my head in a swift upward motion, my mouth held wide open to allow the cold, yet soothing droplets dripping into my mouth, trickling down into my throat. Almost immediately I felt rejuvenated as the cold water droplets started to ease my throat. I held up my hand and watched the rain dripping and gathering onto my hand. Staring intently at the rising water, I saw my own reflection. My face blistered and charred with burn marks, scratches on different areas of my face and blood trickling down the side or my lip. When my hand was full, I washed my face, whilst letting some water flow into my mouth so I could rinse it and then spit the water out.

"Where am I?" I examined my surroundings in hope of at least making sense of where I was, but I couldn't see anything. The earth all around me was crumbled  and broken. Mountains of debris lying on every corner, corpses of trees and animals lying on the ground... dead. The lightning sparks illuminating this world, an endless abyss of darkness, each time showing me completely different things. First, the crumbled earth, next the dead lying helplessly on the ground, then collapsed buildings and houses. After that was a plain image of some galaxy that looks almost like the Milky Way, it may also be the Milky Way. 

I lost all sense of my surroundings as I concentrated on that one image. I couldn't tell how, but I felt a tugging sensation. Don't get me wrong, it's not that I'm weird or anything, but it felt as if that image was calling out to me. And that's when I heard it:

"Son... You are the chosen Saiyan, to defeat Nemesis and restore prosperity to the Milky Way as it was before. The everlasting light, do not let it go out no matter what.

Would you emerge from the darkness as light, or will u return to it from where u were born?"

A glimmer of light appeared from the centre of the Milky Way, the black hole, and engulfed me within it. Abruptly afterwards, my body moved on its own. Both my hands were raised right in front of me, as if trying to push the light source away, but instead I felt as if I was embracing the light. The light expanded to an extent that my vision was distorted and luckily that was when my eyes shut for themselves.
