Kaiser's P.O.V

"How can you draw like that, Wesley Lex" I asked as I walked into the kitchen later into the day; as I leaned over Wesley while she drew a girl holding a flower out to the earth. I started to think about the words that she spoke towards David's freshly dug, untouched grave this morning 'I am so sorry.......but I don't blame myself I know you wouldn't want me to; I may have not known you for a long time, hell less than a week. Yet I am happy that your soul got to work with us for as long you survived this shit. Now you can move on and live a life up wherever you are and just breathe, for your wife and kids.' Then she kneeled down and placed a flower she found in the garden upon the ground above his buried head.

"It's a talent I guess, and you know I hate when you add my last name to my first," she spoke sending me a playful glare up to my face; I gave out a soft chuckle.

"Yeah, yeah I know but I like it and when I like something I keep it around," I said with a wink making her blush lightly and look down at the table. I slid my feet over to the basket of firewood that we had settled by the corner of the kitchen to create a campfire to keep warm since it was getting colder. "Are you coming to the fire or....." I trailed off as I heard her chair screech against the hard wood floor as her little feet started to walk towards me to help pick up some wood.

"Well I would, but I don't have a jacket or jeans and Tony said that it was freezing outside." She said making me look down at her while she stood in her short overalls and long sleeve blue shirt; same as earlier, I smirked and turned fully towards her.

"Well how about this I will go grave one of my jackets for you, and you can ask Sarah for a pair of jeans." I offered and she smiled at me before putting the piece of wood she had taken out of the stack in my arms before running up to Mason, Sarah, and her room. I chuckled before going over to the door and dropping the wood for Tony so he could start up the fire; before I jogged up to my room to search my closet for the smallest hoodie I had that would most likely still be huge on her small 16 year old body.

I found a light grey one that didn't fit anybody at the house and decided that she could keep it; I wore it the first day that the world went to shit and it had a lot of bad memories attached to it but her wearing it will make me happy about the grey fabric. "Hey" her small voice piped up from the door making me smile and turn to her, but my smile dropped when I saw her tear stained face that she tried to remove seconds before.

"Hey sweets what's wrong" I asked walking closer to her she just shook her head and I decided not to push it probably something from this morning. "Okay it's alright, here you can have this one it doesn't fit me anymore, and would probably look good on ya'" I chuckled out making her blush like there was no tomorrow while I smiled. She through the fabric over her head and let it fall around her practically consuming her small curvy body; yeah she gained some weight which is a good thing meaning she is healthier but also it makes it harder on me with those little curves of hers.

Now she wore a pair of black skinny jeans that were to long on her so they had to be rolled up a few times, her usual black vans and my big jacket that fell mid thigh on her but was so adorable I could hardly hold in a chuckle. "Ready to go out" I asked walking past the door before getting a response and started to walk down the stairs as I heard her small feet follow behind me; a loud crash echoed from down stairs along with a few screams making me pause in the middle of the steps while Wes ran to my side hiding her head in my bicep. I graved my gun with my right hand getting a good hold on it before graving Wes' right hand into my left.

"Run!!!" Someone yelled from downstairs sounding slightly like Mason as he let out an ear piercing scream making Wesley cry out into my bicep harder. I pulled her down the steps as I heard groans and moans coming from the front yard making panic settle it's way into my body; I couldn't let Wesley and I die like my father did I made a promise and I will keep it.

In the corner of my eye I saw Tony grave a bunch of children and woman and pushing  them outside towards a big van making me drag Wes towards him. His head snapped to me as he sighed in relief, "Get to the side car out front and wait on me I will be there soon" I nodded and ran my way towards the grayish, blue car opening the back seat door and practically throwing Wesley and myself into the two seats. I looked around the car seeing walkers and crawlers taking down the shit building as men and women ran around trying to find their kids and shooting everything in their way attracting more of the damn things. Tony soon entered the car with Karen and Josh; Karen took the passenger seat while Josh took the back seat making me drag Wes up into my lap to make more room. Tony hauled ass out of the driveway making a clear shot for the road making me sigh relief when we safely made it out....well that is until I heard the soft whimpering of Wes "Are you alright; did you get bit?" I asked frightened by the answer that could leave her mouth and destroy my world.

"No, b-but the l-last thing me and my br-brother did w-was f-f-fight" She stuttered our crying even harder than before I pushed her head into my chest trying to soothe her as I cooed soft words into her ear.

"Who said he was dead, baby girl?" I asked trying to keep a high hope even though his scream was very convincing to his death, but Wes didn't have to think that way.

"But his scream...."

"Don't think like that, sweets" I spoke rubbing her back slightly as we road over the bumpy road I looked down at Wesley's face catching a yawn leave her lips. "Get some sleep Wesley Lex"
