y/n's perspective
I laid on the cold, wet bars of a park bench as I was paralyzed in numbness and fear. My ex who I had been currently living with for the past few months had pushed me out of our own house when we had gotten into a heated argument over something so irrelevant, and just so stupid but they apparently took it to heart and started to get physically abusive towards me. I was forced out of the only place I had to go, and I was now stranded and alone. This is NOT how I wanted my day to turn out, now what the hell am I suppose to do? My thoughts weren't helping me much and I knew I needed a place to go for the night, so I made my decision and started walking to the nearest gas station I knew about. It was a quarter to 10 at night, and as I had no transportation, it took me about 20 minutes to get to one. When I finally arrived at one, I thankfully grabbed my wallet before I had left so I had enough money and my credit/debit card to handle myself on my own. I had also grabbed my bag along with me, which did have items I would probably need for the night so I knew I could manage.
When I had went inside the gas station, no one was around but the cashier and he greeted me with a friendly wave and a genuine smile which you don't seem to get often anymore. It made me sad people were like this, but I brushed off my upsetting thoughts and instead waved back as I browsed around for my f/s and a drink to go along with it. Once I had found the things I was looking for, I paid for my items and left the station before opening the wrapper to my f/s. I stood in place for a while underneath the flickering streetlight, not really sure on where to go now. All I knew at the moment was that I was hungry, and that I had had the last straw with my ex and wasn't going back there to get hurt even more. I wasn't really aware of my surroundings either, but I knew from earlier I was standing right around the edge of a forest so it caught my attention quicker than anything else.
I'm not the one for 'investigating' or looking around, but I was desperate to find somewhere to stay so I had to go with my head instead of my gut feeling instead, and that's how I ended up being in a dark and abandoned forest. Yeah.. not the best decision on my part, but I didn't really have another choice. While I make my way through the trees in interest and calmness, I get a suddenly cold draft from behind me and it makes me shiver in fright. This causes me to become more uncomfortable and on edge so I turn around, expecting to see someone or something, but to my relief there was no one. I can't help but sigh as I reassure myself, "Calm down y/n, everything's okay.. everything's fine.." I turn back around beginning to walk again, but I made sure to pick up the pace. I continue until suddenly I notice a small figure in the corner of my peripheral vision, but I try to ignore it and brush it off as a tree stump or bush. That's when my theory is proved wrong when it begins to move like a person. Oh hell no, that is NOT a tree. That's when I loose it and run like my life depended on it, tripping over branches on the way but managing to not fall completely over.
The moonlight is the only light I had available, and my phone would've been helpful if it wasn't dead. I couldn't help but begin to pant as I kept running at full speed. I look behind me and my eyes widened in terror as I see a little boy so close to me that he almost was grabbing the end of my shirt. My adrenaline made me go berserk, but I knew if he tried anything I could drop kick this kid just as fast as he was running. However he didn't look harmful, nor did I think he'd try anything so I eventually slowed down to which the boy did as well. When we both came to a complete stop, I turned around quickly to look at him and he just stood there as if he was frozen in place. I took the short amount of time I had and examined him closely. The boy looked roughly around the age of 10 or 12 possibly, and his shirt had a small logo on it that read, 'flamingo'.
He honestly didn't look dangerous at all, in fact he almost looked worried or nervous, but no where did I see a hint of harm on him. He looks up at me, then opens his mouth but doesn't say anything. I cock my eyebrow in confusion and ask if he was alright, but then that's when I felt someone come up from behind me and I prayed to god that it was just a tree branch. Unfortunately to my disappointment, it was most definitely a person as I felt a hand cover my mouth with a cloth and I immediately tried to break away from their grasp. My screams were of no use though as they were muffled by the persons hand, and I knew I done for as my body began to relax into theirs unwillingly. I couldn't put up a fight as I fell into a deep sleep.
