I came back from another terrible day of school again. I never really fit in...without my friend Yu...It's hard. I went upstairs through my bag on the floor and looked in the mirror. "Ugh...What a mess...no wonder people hate me", i said to myself. Just then i heard my mother shout for me. "Tomoko! Dinner's gonna be ready in a few, come help me with dinner before Tomoki gets home!" My brother, little brother, Tomoki always comes home late because of baseball practice. "...No!", i shouted back. I was too depressed to even eat, talk, or even look at my popular brother in the eye. "N-No? Why not?", she asked, sounding like she was begging. "I....It's been a long day...i am not hungry...", i just said simply. "But Tomoko-" "Leave me to rest, mom..", i said then fell on my bed. "Well...Okay." Finally, i thought. Some peace and...quiet..
A few minuets later Tomoki came home shouting lightly: "I'm home~!" "Oh! Welcome back, dear! Dinner's on the table, eat up before it gets cold! He nodded then put his back down and went to the table to eat. He sat next to Tomoko's usual chair. But it was odd, she wasn't there. "Mom?", began Tomoki. "Yes dear?" "Where's Tomoko?" "Oh..she's in her room." "Did she eat yet?" "No...surprisingly she just said she was too tired and not hungry..." It was odd for both of them. Especially for Tomoki. "Tomoko never skips dinner...even when i come home she'll be rushing to hug me...and say something totally stupid..." "Well dear...why not talk to her?" "Huh?", Tomoki looked at his mother with a surprised look. "Why can't you do it yourself, mom?" "She shut me out last time. I think you have the ability to talk with her. Since she's your older sister. He shrugged then got up. "I'll try". He said then walked upstairs.
He knocked on Tomoko's door. "Tomoko? It's your brother. Can i come in?" "Go away.", she said, sounding sad and angry. "What's wrong?", he asked. "Nothing. Go away." This is odd...he thought, Tomoko always lets me in... "Tomoko let me in before i kick down this door." There was nothing but silence after he said that. "Tomoko?" "..." "Tomoko!?" "..." TOMKO!" He shouted then kicked down the door. She jumped then looked at him angerily. "Tomoki!? What was that for?!", she shouted at him. "You didn't let me in! I warned you i'd kick the door down!", he shouted back. "Whats the matter? Why didn't you eat or say anything to me when i came home?" "It was another horrible day at school.." "Oh! Grow up! You need to stop with this crap! Your in highschool now! You'll fit in if you just try!" 'Just try', those words echoed in Tomoko's head. Something snapped...She got up and shouted in his face. "DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA HOW HARD I'VE BEEN TRYING!?!? I'VE BEEN UP ALL NIGHT TESTING OUTFITS AND EVEN SEARCHING ON THE WEB!!! EVERY. NIGHT! BUT ITS ALWAYS THE SAME NO ONE NOTICES ME!!! YOU NEED TO STOP TALKING LIKE I NEVER EVEN BOTHERED TO TRY!! BECAUSE I HAVE!!" His eyes widen. This was the first time Tomoko shouted at him like that. He saw tears appear in her baggy eyes.
"Sis...I'm so-" "Out". She said, pointing to the door while wiping her tears away. "But-" "OUT!!" She said again but more furiously. He shook his head then hugged her tightly. She was surprised at first then slowly hugged back. "Remember when i said when i grew up i'll marry you?" She gasped. He said that to her when they were young. "Y-Yeah..?" "I meant it, onee-san." I-Is this l-love!?, she thought, m-my own brother?! "I know, i shouldn't have yelled. I didn't mean it, onee-san...i love you...i'm sorry..." They pulled back, Tomoko, looking at Tomoki who was blushing as red as a tomato. "L-Little brother?" She stuttered, surprised and shocked. He lifted her chin then kissed her lightly, full on lips.
