Lucy and peter thornthwaite have been trying to kill each other for so long that neither twin could remember who started it. Was it Lucy's cunning scheme to put on a play about the french evolution, starring peter as the main character but using real swords? Or could it of been that long hot summer when peter handed lucy an ice lolly that would blow up as soon as she licked it?
Whoever had struck first, trying to take each others live was now simply something that they both did. Trying to kill your twin is hard work.
But when on their birthday having made 1000 murder attempts between them they called a truce.
"I no longer want to kill you", announced peter to Lucy.
Lucy eyed him suspiciously. Peter had tried this last year on their twelfth birthday but lucy later found out that he had poisoned her drink.
"Ok", she finally decided.
"Truce", said peter and lucy.
They then shook on it and swapped cakes 14 times so they knew neither piece of cake had been tampered with.
