Annabeth Pov

Well that was weird.

I was almost back to my class when Thalia ran up to me

How did you do that?

Do what?

Deal with percy?

I don't know. Does he do that often?

He hasn't gone up like that in school since freshman year.

Oh. how old are you? You look much older than the rest of us.

Oh... your percy's age right?

Um how old is he?

He's 17.

Then yeah were the same age.

Yeah... i'm 20.

Why are you still in high school?

I got held back. A lot.

Why?

i had anger issues and tended to... let's just say parents didn't like me hitting their kids.

Ok.

Thaila looked really sad. Like she lost someone because of it.

So why'd you move here?

Oh my dad got a job as a college professor at NYU.

So are you gonna go there when you graduate?

Oh gods no! I'm going back to California to go to New Rome University.

Wait isn't that the one school for kids who have ADHD and dyslexia and other mind issues?

Yeah i have both ADHD and dyslexia so i thought that New Rome would be a lot of help to me.

What do you want to be when you grow up?

I want to become an official member of this independant girls group called the hunter of Artemis.

Official?

Yeah i'm on probation right now. All i need to do is graduate.

Oh so are you trying hard?

Yeah but i'm having trouble keeping my grades up. I have ADHD and dyslexia too.

Wait so what are the Hunters of Artemis? I've heard the name before but i don't actually know.

The Hunters of Artemis is a group of women who swear off men forever. They take in women in need and worship the goddess Artemis.

Why do you want to join them? wait that's none of my business. I can tell it's a sensitive subject.

thanks. nobody besides percy, my brother, some other family, and our other friends really consider how I'm feeling. 

well i'm not the kind of person to bring people out of their comfort zone just for fun.

I appreciate that. 

we should probably get back to class.

As Thalia and I got back into class everyone was staring at me while I went back to my seat. This was gonna be a long day.

(time skip to lunch)

as the bell rang for lunch I thought about piper's invitation to sit with her and her friends. but I just wanted to be alone to think about the move and everything that happened after it.  I didn't want piper to think of me as a bad person so I found Thalia and asked her to tell piper that I wouldn't be able to eat with them today but that i'll try to a different day.  I then got my lunch and went to sit on a wall. 

I sighed as I sat down. I really wanted to talk to Seaweed brain but he hadn't replied to any of my other messages since first period. he must have gotten his pone taken away. I silently laughed to myself. He used to get his phone taken away at least every day but he had gotten better at hiding his phone while in class. it's probably his history teacher who took it. the one his mom was dating. so the teacher probably knew all his tricks by now.  when the bell rang for lunch to be over I stood up and threw my lunch in the garbage. the rest of the  day went by in a flash and when the bell rang I was the first one out of the school. I raced home and stood in front of my new house. I then went inside to do my homework before I went to see percy.
