1952

It was a normal day for Dean except for the first time in years he decided to stop at the Sunnyside Cafe on main street to get some coffee to treat himself. He parked his shiny black motorcycle in the almost empty parking lot, he drove by this place almost every day on his way home to his apartment down the road and it was always either packed or completely empty and no one ever knew why. He slings the door open almost breaking the bell on the top of it

"hello, handsome. How can I help you" the cashier said looking him up and down as he walks over to the counter.

Dean smirks and chuckles a little "coffee, black and a biscuit"

"Mmk comin up," she says as she begins writing her number on his receipt. Dean jerks it out from under her pen "you're not my type" he says, winks and turns around to find a seat when he sees a handsome young man sitting in the corner amongst the empty seats. As soon as he made eye contact he jerked his head to look out the window and Dean smirked knowing that he had observed his conversation with the cashier. Dean walked over to have a seat with him. He slid into the booth with ease

"Hi there," he says confidently

"H-hi" the dark haired man mutters

"Got a name?" Dean said with ease

"Call me Cas, please" Dean stopped for a moment when Cas looked at him, his deep blue eyes shimmering in the early morning sunshine made his heart skip a beat

He cleared his throat

"Okay then, Cas how are you today?"

"Why are you talking to me?" Cas said very shyly, barely making eye contact

"Better question, why are you blushing?"

"I-uh" Cas choked on his words

"Okay then I'll answer first, you were looking at me, you're attractive and you're blushing all good signs for me," Dean said with a slight smirk

Cas jerked his head up from looking at his lap in fear

"ahh there it is. So, why are you blushing Cassy?" The waitress breaks the conversation briefly to give Dean his coffee and biscuit "This conversation is still going Cas, it's your turn"

"Dude I just met you! I don't even know your name! why should I go telling you personal stuff?"

"Okay, Dean. I'm Dean and you don't have to tell me anything, I just want you to"

"O-okay. I think you're attractive too and what you said to Sam shocked me a little" Cas said looking out the window to hide his embarrassment

"Ah, her name is Sam. My brother's name is Sam, I haven't talked to him in a while. He hates me" Dean said as he bit his biscuit and sipped his coffee a little too aggressively

"I'm sorry," Cas said. Dean made a gesture indicating that it was fine

"Why? if you don't mind me asking"

"Gay"

Cas laughed, took a sip of his water and sighed "yeah, I know the feeling"

Deans eyes widened "I hoped so"

"How could you tell?"

"Well you were giving me googly eyes since I walked in here and other men are repulsed by me, you know the straight 'proper' ones"

Cas giggled "Well you aren't exactly neat and suited liked all the other guys around here"

"Neither are you" Dean said with a smirk "tell me about yourself, Cas"
