What if rocks could share wisdom?

A mighty hill stood towering in pride;
As men looked at it with a grave gaze.
Moments later, workers came and tried,
To dig through it, to make new railways.

The giant's ego dissipated,
As the workers dug deeper for purpose;
With increasing depth in the rock they created,
They felt deeply immersed.

It was almost as if the rocks,
Were sharing their wisdom!
It was like making the worker's mock,
Their own ephemeral existence!

Through layers of sediment,
Toiled eons in the sea,
The rudimentary minds,
Learnt from sedimentary finds.

Patterns preserved in chaotic precision,
Taught patience and struggle to young men,
At one point they reconsidered their decision,
To continue to carve in.

Yet the patterns glowed as the day ended,
As the men felt warm near the campfire,
Set up near beauty suspended,
Which lead to a volcanic inspire!

Oh look at how this same rock,
Must have once been magma;
In the world's endless clock,
To rebirth from its then existing stigma.

Oh the tales they could tell,
Rich, vivid, deep stories;
Filled with nothing we can see from our shell,
Of a building of just seven stories.

Over generations of species,
And their births and deaths,
The soil came together and broke away,
Witnessing the music of life
From its very own, dance-like existence.
