We pull up into the driveway into our new house. It was much bigger than the one we were living in before. My mom stops the car and gets out. I grab my young dog Milk Jug (yes I named her that) and put her leash on. I get out of the car with her and put her down on the ground to let her smell her surroundings. I'm sure she has to pee.
Once she did her business, I grab a box from the car and walk inside to place it down. As I do, I look around the house. I visited here a few months ago but I've already forgotten the layout. The living room was right near the entryway. I walk into the room and turn a corner to see the kitchen. The countertops were marble and there were modern appliances. I'm not used to this at all. Ever since my mom has gotten her summer job, everything has been turning around...mainly for her anyway. I miss my friends at my old school, but I'm sure they've already forgotten me by now.
I climbed up the stairs and went into my new bedroom after I grabbed a few more boxes downstairs. My bed was already built in here and my nightstand was right beside it. I go over to a box and open it. Inside was a mirror and some fairy lights. I pick it up and lean it against a wall near my bed. I go back over to the box and grab the fairy lights. I hang them all around the mirror, then remember we don't have any batteries. Ugh, I guess I'll have to go to the store this week.
I grab the rest of my things out of the boxes and start decorating my room. I called my mom and she helped me drill in holes to put a wall shelf on the wall on top of my TV.
After about two hours I finally sit and look around my new room. Now this house is starting to feel like home. If only I could bring my old hometown here. I grab my phone and text one of my friend's from my old town and send her a picture of my room.
I sit my phone down and wait for a sound to go off. As I wait, I grab my book Hush Hush from under my TV and read where I left off. Before I knew it, thirty minutes had passed by and I picked up my phone again. No message, but an email from my phone service. I sigh and throw my phone back on my bed. I slide a bookmark into my book and close it. I get up from my bed and head downstairs.
I see Mom in the kitchen leaning against the island with her arms crossed. She seems very exhausted from moving. "Wanna go eat out somewhere?" I ask her. She looks up at me and I watch her eyes turn bright. "Yeah, where would you like to go?"
"Maybe to one of the local restaurants?" I suggest.
"Yeah, that sounds good."

We arrive at one of the local restaurants in town called Frank's Diner. "Ah, you're not from around here are you?" A tall big older man wearing an apron asks us; I'm assuming he's the owner.
"Yeah, we just moved in", Mom said while giving a tiring smile.
"Oh, splendid! It's quite nice to see a new face once in a while." I watched his mustache move as he spoke and his crinkled eyes seemed warm with greeting. My mom smiled and walked up to the counter and asked one of the waiters for a table.
