Foxy cowered behind the dusty, red curtains of Pirates Cove. He hoped that the others wouldn't do it again. The fox looked down at his ripped and bruised limbs and whimpered, remembering the pain they caused him. He wished he'd never been sent to this horrible place. Just then the curtains were swiped to one side revealing two dark shadows looming over him. Bonnie and Freddy smirked down at the helpless fox. "Hiding in here again, eh?" said Freddy, his psychotic smile making Foxy quiver in fear. "Why don't you come join us? We'll have some... fun... with the security guard..." Bonnie whispered sickeningly. Foxy shook his head. He felt sick at the thought of what they were going to do to the poor soul who had to monitor the cameras this week. He wouldn't kill him. He didn't do that anymore.. not since the bite... not since... The fox was abruptly slapped across the face. "You do as we say!!!" yelled Freddy, seizing him by the neck and forcing him to stand. Foxy gave a defeated sigh as he was pushed forward. They were shortly joined by Chica, who giggled manically when she saw the fox helping the other two disembowel the security guard. "Ha! You actually got him to do it? Wow." she grinned. Foxy twitched as he slowly pulled out organs from the mans stomach, gagging at the putrid stench of blood. Once Freddy had decided they'd put the fox through enough torture, he let him go. "Go on you pathetic little mutt. Scram!" Foxy quickly ran through the corridor, back to his curtain where he cried and cried until 6am, when he froze, ready for another day.
Mike Schmidt scanned the paper, coffee in one hand. He had had no such luck so far trying to find a job with enough money to live on. He rubbed his brow in stress. When his eyes were drawn to a particular add in the paper. It read; Help wanted. Freddy Fazbear's Pizza. Family pizzeria looking for security guard to work the nightshift" Seemed legit. "Monitor cameras, ensure safety of equipment.. blah blah blah... Not responsible for injury/ disembowelment? What? Mike was a little creeped out by this sentence but decided to think otherwise of it. He circled the ad in a red marker and set the newspaper on the table, going towards the kettle to make his third coffee of the morning...
Mike looked up at the restaurant. Yep ,this was the one. He stepped inside to find only a few children gathered around three creepy looking animatronics; most of the children had gone home since it was close to closing time. When he looked at those... things it made him shiver.. it seemed like they were.. looking at him, acknowledging him. But Mike simply ignored them and went up to the counter. He was greeted by a friendly looking girl who smiled when she saw him. "Hi!" she said. "Welcome to Freddy Fazbear's pizzeria! How can I help you?" He brought out the ad from the newspaper of which he'd ripped out and folded into his pocket earlier. "Uh, Id like to apply for the.. uh, nightshift.." The girl's smile faded and she gave a look of pity and sadness. "Sure sir.. through that door over there.." She gestured to a green door which had a sign on it; Manager. Mike thanked the girl and opened the door. There, was a rather fat man who sat at a desk. He was fumbling with what looked like endless amounts of bills and complaint letters, sighing angrily. When he looked up at Mike he gave him a weak smile and hid the paperwork in a drawer. "Hi. Uh.. I'm a little busy right now to take a complaint.. so please, if you going to- " Mike interrupted and corrected him. "I'm not here to give you a hard time. I'd like to apply for the nightshift!" The man's face became a bit more tense. But he quickly smothered that look with a small grin. "Oh. Great! You can start tonight. Ill show you to the office you'll be staying in." Mike was lead into a dark little office at the other side of the building. He was shown all the cameras and how to work the doors. "Um. Cool! So is that it?" he asked. The man slowly looked up. "Well no... not quite..."
Mike yelled in fear. "Shit!" He had thought the manager was just having a laugh when he'd told him about the animatronics. But no of course not. He just had to pick the job with the killer robots, didn't he? He stared at the cameras, intently. Where was the duck?!! Just then he switched the monitor to Pirates Cove. The curtains had been opened and there was no sign of the fox. He heard footsteps making their way rapidly towards the door on his right. "Oh fuck!!!!" he screamed and practically punched the close door button. He heard a few mighty bangs on the door. Then silence. Mike waited for a few seconds. What was that he could hear? Was that.. crying? He could just make out the words "P- please.... please let me in. Don't let them get me." Mike thought about it. These things.. couldn't have feelings could they?.. He decided to risk it and open the door. He waited for a fox to come claw his face off but nothing of the sort happened. Mike peered into the darkness before shooting back into the room. Foxy ran into the room, a look of desperation plastered on his torn face. He turned around and closed the door behind him. Mike crawled into a ball on his office chair. "No! Go away! Please don't kill me!" Foxy looked at the man and walked towards him. But Mike kicked the fox in the face and shouted "NO!!" The fox shivered and held his paw up to his face. "I- I'm not going to k- kill you..." he murmured. Mike glanced at him in confusion and realized the fox was as scared as he was. "S- so.. you're not going to.. I'm sorry.." said the man. Foxy gave him a look. "Its OK." Then he started looking for something, rooting around behind the desk before he found a small lever. He pulled it and both of the doors locked shut. "Emergency door lock." said the fox to Mike. "They cant get us now" Mike was still unsure about the fox but he had began to relax again, knowing that the rest of the team couldn't get him. He looked at Foxy. He was holding his jaw, trying to tweak it into place. "Here let me help you with that." said Mike, examining him. He took out a tool box from under the desk and started to fix up Foxy's jaw. He felt a little awkward as he stared into the fox's eyes. He paused, before quickly moving away. "Well.. that's done then!.. Um.. yeah" They had run out of words to say. "... So.. why didn't you kill me?" asked Mike. He wanted to know what made Foxy so different than the others. "My intention was never to kill anyone. I came here to get away from those fuckers out there. I heard they'd got a new guard so.. I thought that I could help you." Foxy smiled. "And apart from the part where you kicked me in the face, you seem like a nice guy!" Mike laughed. "Yeah sorry about that. You freaked the hell out of me. I don't know why I had to get this job. It sucks. I don't think Ill be coming back tomorrow..-" Mike was cut off by Foxy. "No, please! Don't quit. I need you. I don't want to be by myself again. Please." The fox's words made Mike's heart melt. As much as he wanted to get the fuck out of that hell hole he just couldn't find it in him to leave the fox alone. ".. Fine.. Ill stay... hey can I ask you a question?" The fox nodded. "Did you really bite part of a child's head off?" Earlier the manager had told him the stories of "the bite of 87" and he wanted to know more. Foxy twitched, Mike had obviously hit a sore spot. "Yes... yes I did... but.. he deserved it!.. Look, I was really angry that day.. Ill tell you the story; You see a long time ago I used to be the main character. I used to sing songs for the children and dance. But then Freddy and the rest found me at night, beat me up... said that the stage was meant for them.. said I was weak, pathetic. The next day, when the manager found me all torn up he didn't fix me. Just said that it added a more "pirate" look to me. He didn't even question how I'd ended up this way. So I was put on stage. I started to sing.. but there was this one kid... this one annoying little brat who kept poking me. Ripping my ears and laughing, saying that I was a wreck and that I should be thrown away and melted down. And I just lost it. I leaped onto him and bit a huge chunk out of his head. I remember hearing a loud crunch and then people screaming, shouting. I was shut down and put behind stage. The manager said that the damage that had been done to me must have affected my behavior. He didn't have enough money to get me fixed so he just left me here. The child somehow survived, but later had the plug pulled on him since the frontal lobe of the brain contained basically everything that made him a functioning human being and I'd gone and ripped it off his head. I'll never forget the look on that poor child's face. The blood. The.. the" Foxy trailed off, memories flashing through his mind. Mike had listened to the story carefully, distraught to hear that his friend had been through so much. "Foxy.. I- I had no idea... I'm sorry for bringing it up.. I promise I will help you. I'm not leaving until I save you from these monsters." Foxy's sad eyes met Mike's determined ones. "Th- thank you... hey I never heard your name." "Its Mike. And I know you're Foxy." They shared a moment of happiness together. "Friends?" Foxy asked? "Friends Mike replied and they both sat in silence for a while. Mike found his hand moving closer towards Foxy's. He stroked his fur absent mindedly. The fox looked at him. "Uhh Mike? What are you doing?" Mike snapped his hand away. "I was just- um... I- " Mike was cut off by the 6am alarm. "Oh. Well looks like I've got to go." said Foxy. "Want me to walk you to the door so you feel safer?" Mike nodded and they both walked towards the entrance of the establishment. "Ill see you again right?" The fox asked. "Of course" said Mike. Just then the manager burst through the door. Mike went to signal for the fox to leave but saw he'd already sneaked away. Mike smiled. Maybe this job wasn't so bad?
