The hot sun beats down on the three people as they battle in the Keyblade Graveyard. Sweat drips down Sora's forehead as he is once more knocked down into the dirt. Xehanort has a triumphant expression on his face, watching Sora and Riku struggle. Riku is farther away from Sora, and he watches as Xehanort strolls up to his friend The silverette feels uneasy at the sight. Panic shoots through the boy as he sees the bald old man lift his keyblade for a final blow. Instinct kicks in, propelling him forward at an impossibly fast pace. Riku wasn't thinking. Usually it was Sora making impulsive decisions, but something deep in his heart was causing him to do this. "Say goodbye, Sora," Xehanort whispers to the brunette on the ground.
"No!" Riku yells, throwing himself in front of his best friend. The weapon's teeth sink into his chest, hitting straight into his heart. A scream tears from the lips of the young boy behind him. Sora stares in shock as a heart lifts from the body of his dead friend. It's made up of both light and darkness. As the blue-eyed boy watches, it slowly dissipates into dust, flying away, just like his other friends. Tears stream down Sora's face, sadness overcoming him. However, it quickly molded itself into anger. As Riku's body also faded, the other boy stood. His features hardened with determination.
A war cry was heard from Sora as he ran at Xehanort, rage blinding him. The old man only smiled. This was what he was hoping for. The bond between Sora and Riku was clear to anyone, and he had planned to use that to his advantage. Killing one would surely set off the other one, and emotion was a weakness on the battlefield. The brunette was much too distracted to realize this. He pummeled the bald man with attacks, all of which were blocked. He didn't stop-- couldn't stop. He was too overwhelmed to feel anything but pain, and he directed it all at the person who had ended Riku's life.
In his fury, he did not realize how unprotected from oncoming attacks he was. Xehanort, of course, did. He maneuvered his body, twisting to thrust his keyblade at Sora's exposed chest. The brunette gasped, a shock of pain shooting through his body. Xehanort was exhilarated. His biggest enemy, finally dead. He leaned down to face the blue-eyed boy. "I win, Sora." He grinned, standing straight once more. Sora could now only see darkness. His own heart could now be seen above him, but it is soon gone. Suddenly, a light is glimpsed off in the distance. Entranced, he runs toward it, swallowed up immediately in its warmth.
