What was William Shakespeare’s intention when he was writing Romeo and Juliet…?¨ I was starting to zone out, it has been an over a week since my encounter with the man and I have not seen him since. There is something weird though, every day after school when I start to walk home there is this black SUV that is there right outside the school for the past week and leaves when I leave but I don’t pay much attention to it it is probably just my mind playing with me. ¨Lacey? Um… Lacey?¨ I was pulled out of my thoughts, ¨Yes Ms. Hamlin?¨

¨I asked you a question.¨ Oh, I have no idea what the question was, ¨Ms. Hamlin, can you please repeat the question?¨ Ms. Hamlin just glared at me for a second, ¨Ms. De Luca if you were paying attention I wouldn’t have to repeat myself now would I? No, I would not, the question was, what was William Shakespeare’s play Romeo and Juliet about?¨

¨Ms. Hamlin, Romeo, and Juliet were about two star-crossed lovers who were not allowed to be together because of the unknown feud between the Montague and Capulets families. Romeo was a Montague and Juliet was a Capulet, but the two lovers didn’t care, all they cared about was trying to be together. In Act II they get married, with only a few people knowing. When then after they marry Romeo gets banished from Verona for killing Tybalt, and Lord Capulet tells Juliet that she must marry Count Paris on Thursday and it was Monday but here is the conflict she is married to Romeo but doesn’t want to tell her parent but her father tells her that she will marry him and if not the Capulet family will disown her. Juliet wants to Friar Laurence for help and he gave her this ¨poison¨ that would make her look dead but just sleeping so she can sneak away with Romeo. She drinks the ¨poison¨ and the next day her family finds her ¨dead¨ body. Romeo kills Paris and goes to find Juliet, finds her and kills himself, she then kills herself. We also find out that Lady Montague died of grief after Romeo’s banishment. The feud between the families end.¨ That was a lot to say and remember. ¨Wow, I can see someone has been doing their homework. Well done Ms. De Luca.¨ Smiling I asked, ¨Thank you.¨

Finally, the day was over and I was able to go home, finish up today’s homework, and my favorite part sleep. On my way home that same car was following me home it was weird I started to walk faster almost a ran into a local coffee shop, taking out my phone I called my mom, ¨Hello sweetheart, is everything alright?¨ I was breathing heavy,¨Mom I don’t know what is happening but there is this car that been parked outside the High School every day for the past week and other places I have been going I didn’t really think about it because maybe someone’s parents or something but no they are following me and know I am in a coffee shop not knowing what to do.¨ My breathing was returning back to normal, ¨Alright sweetie, just stay where you are, I am coming to pick you up.¨

¨Okay mom thank you.¨ I set at one of the tables and ordered some coffee when she got there I jumped into her car. On the way back to my Apartment it was quiet she didn’t ask me any questions. When we arrived she asked, would you like it if I came in with you?¨ I shook my head, yes and we walked in. ¨Would you like something to eat or drink?¨ I shook my head no,¨ No thank you mom, I think I am going to go to bed and get some rest.¨ She shook her head,¨Alright Lacey but if you need anything just call me or your dad and we will be here as fast as we can.¨ I smiled and she walked up to me hugging me and kissing my forehead, ¨I love you Lacey goodnight.¨ Hugging her tight,¨I love you to mom, and thank you.¨ She walked out and I put out my pajamas on and hopped in bed, letting myself drift off.
