Day 1: Cross Academy

[Ryouka's Pov]

"We're almost there, Ryouka-Sama," Haru announced.

I roll down the window to let the breeze in. Looking up at the big mountain where the academy stood, I let out a soft gasp. Soon, the car came to a stop at the bottom of the mountain, where a long staircase leading up to the entrance of the academy stood. I got out of the car to stare at the academy. A gentle breeze passes through my skin and I smile against the gentle sunlight touching my face.

"Ryouka-Sama?"

Averting my gaze from the academy, I look at Haru who has started climbing up the staircase. For an old man his age, he sure can climb.

"I'm coming," I replied.

I followed Haru as he walks past several hallways to get to the Headmaster's office. 

"Have you been to the academy before?" I asked.

"Pardon?" He said.

"It's nothing, you just seem to know the way for a first visit," I commented.

"Oh no, you're mistaken, Ryouka-Sama. I've been to the academy a couple of times before." He explains.

"Oh, I see," I replied.

"This is the Headmaster's office." 

Haru stops in front of a door before turning around to excuse himself. I watched Haru disappear down the hallway with my luggage before I start walking towards the door.

Okay...it's now or never. I raised my hand to knock on the door and waited for a response.

"Come in!" An excited voice responded.

Opening the door, I popped my head in first before slipping my whole body through the door. Looking at the Headmaster before me, I can't help but make a face of disbelief. W-What...is he wearing?! 

"Ahh, the new student. Come on in! Your name must be Ryouka...Ryouka...?" He stated.

"Just Ryouka. I believed you've read my background information, my adoptive parents were both orphans without surnames, therefore, I too go by just my name." I explained.

"Ah, I see...it also seems that you've been under Asata Ichijo's care since you were ten, after your adoptive parent's death. A human living with vampires..." He commented.

"Is that a concern?" I asked.

"No! Not at all. I'm just surprised." He replied. "Nevertheless, I am the Headmaster of Cross Academy. Welcome to Cross Academy, Ryouka! You're an official student of Cross Academy now."

Before I could thank him, there was a knock on the door. 

"Ahh right on time, it must be Yuki. Come on in!" He exclaimed.

"Headmaster? Oh, a new student." Yuki said.

I turned around to look at the girl who was standing in front of the door, she has shoulder length brown hair and reddish-brown eyes, she's also wearing a black uniform.

"Yuki, meet Ryouka, she's going to be your new classmate starting today." The Headmaster exclaimed.

Yuki walks towards me to give me a handshake which I returned. 

"Hi, I'm Yuki Cross, nice to you." She said.

Yuki Cross...Ahh, I remember now. She's the girl Takuma has told me about.

"Hi, I'm Ryouka, nice to meet you too, Yuki Cross," I replied.

"Come on, I'll show you the way."
