Film Cameras.
They're a difficult medium to work with.
Yeah the effect and aesthetic they have is nice, but the whole process of using the cameras and developing the film is a huge pain.
So when the boys found a film camera that they wanted to use for a shoot, you were very hesitant.
But if the boys wanted to do it, then you suppose you had to give in to them and their silly persuasion.(Y/N's POV)
You: "Okay guys you're gonna have to be patient with me today and you can't be doing much of what you usually do for the shoots."
All the boys were in agreement to be patient, especially considering they really wanted to use the camera.
Hopefully I could teach them how to use it so I don't have to do some of the shots.
That's obviously after I learn how to use it myself. We arrived at the chosen destination and the boys watched and waited for me to prepare everything.
You: "Alright! I think I'm ready. Who wants to be shot first?" I asked looking up from the camera to all the boys individually.
Zach: "I will!"
Jack: "Let's get a picture together!" Jack suggested walking up to Zach.
You: "Okay sure!"
I aligned the two boys in the small viewfinder so that they were central.
I felt for the shutter knowing it wasn't in the same place as a digital camera.
With a loud click, the photo was taken.
I wound the film again ready for the next shot.
You: "Bear in mind that there's only 24 shots on this!" I shouted to them all making sure they didn't get their hopes up for several shots each.*20 shots later*
Corbyn: "Can I have a go now?" he came up to me after his shoot hoping to take a few for himself.
I kindly allowed him and handed him the camera showing him how to shoot.
At first, he was a little off with the controls, but after a mistaken shot, he got the hang of it.
Corbyn: "Hey! That's fun!" I laughed knowing that he didn't have to go through the painful process of developing the film afterwards.I watched from behind as Corbyn used up the rest of the film, glad I could take a break from the damn thing.
You: "Right! That's all the film gone!" I said hearing the last frame wind onto the roll.
Boys: "Aww!" their unison of disappointment was cute and made me smile, but the developing process entered my thoughts and a wave of annoyance passed over me.
You: "You're welcome to join me to develop the film!" I said, optimism in my voice hoping at least one would accompany me throughout the boring process.
There was silence among the group.
Corbyn: "I'll go!" he said making me feel a little better about the whole situation I was about to be put through.*20mins later*
Me and the boys finally made it back to the hotel.
I watched as they all fell onto their beds getting themselves comfortable to do nothing until dinner.
I stayed in the hallway until Corbyn came out from the room so that we could make our way to a Darkroom.
We said our goodbyes to the boys and began walking to the elevator.
You: "I found a college that has everything we need to develop the film so we'll be going there."
Corbyn: "Cool! How long does this process take?"
You: "I'd say about half and hour to an hour depending on how corporative the film wants to be throughout the whole process."
Corbyn: "Damn!"Corbyn continued to ask questions until we got to the college.
He had asked enough questions that I felt confident in leaving him to do the whole thing so I didn't have to.
Unfortunately I couldn't do that.We met up with one of the tutors from the college who took us to the Darkroom where we'd be processing the film.
She showed us around and made sure we knew what we were doing before leaving us to it.
I grabbed everything we needed with a little help from Corbyn carrying it all to the room.
You: "Right! You ready?" my heart began to race knowing I'd be in a pitch black room with Corbyn.
I couldn't help but feel a little bit of sexual tension between us.
But maybe it was just me.
Corbyn: "As I'll ever be I guess!" his voice was shaky and he barely made eye contact with me as he spoke.
I reached for the light switch and turned the light out.
It was so dark that I could only just make out where the door and blacked out window was.
Corbyn: "Damn! I know it's a darkroom, but I didn't know it was going to be this dark!" he laughed attempting to adjust to the change.
You: "Yeah, and I'd rather get this done quick so I can get out and breathe fresh air!" I joked trying to alleviate the slight tension I felt between us.
