The girl with (h/c) hair holds two books in her hand, Skip Beat and Attack On Titan. "Which one do I get?" She questions herself. After a few minutes of thinking she sighs putting the volume of ______ back on its place on the bookcase. Grabbing the basket with her other books, she sets down the other volume into it. Ten books lay resting in the basket, the contents of the books varying from an educational text to romance novels. Three of the books are in the genre of ______.
She walks to the librarian to check out the books passing Zexion, her upperclassman whom she is close friends with. He is currently working putting books away on the selves, on which countless numbers of books rest. She gives him a quick nod, greeting him in a silent way. He responds by returning the gesture, as they have done many times before this day.
Reaching the checkout desk, she places her basket on the table and hands her library card to the librarian. Her books are quickly checked out as they are placed in her book bag. The librarian smiles gently at the (e/c) eyed girl, something that surprises her in a pleasant way. She smiles in response, genuinely happy at the feeling of acceptance she felt at that moment, as she leaves the building.
She walks at a calm pace, feeling content with her life. Suddenly that moment is shattered by a group of her peers. All of them are girls who in someway or another hurt her. A tall girl with long red hair and green eyes narrows her gaze on the (s/t) girl, "Well, if it isn't the freak. What happened, the freak circus didn't want you? Were you too unnatural for them?"
The (e/c) eyed girl's pace speeds up dramatically, trying to avoid a fight. Her eyes look for any help but she finds none in the crowd of people. A tall blond turns around the corner on his motorcycle to see the girl. Acting quickly, he pulls it over and he calls out to her, "(y/n), I was looking for you. We are going to be leaving in about 45 minutes." She quickly moves to reach the motorcycle, while he gives the girl's peers a glare. She climbs onto the motorcycle, the familiar feeling of a leather jacket touching her skin as she holds him tight, aware of the speeds that he travels at.
"Why are you defending her? She is a freak of nature!" The red-head exclaims. The blond ignores her and keeps going on the road.
Once reaching the cafe where the girl works, she removes the helmet and finally speaks, "Cloud, thank you, but why did you have to do that? Do you realize who her family is?"
Cloud looks at the girl, a blank look on his face, "What am I suppose to do? Leave you to the wolves. They will try to get you in trouble again and you know what will what the effects would be if that happens."
"Fine, I get your point," (y/n) mutters in defeat.
Opening the door to the cafe, she looks to see Tifa, "Cloud! (y/n)! Odd to see the two of you come in together."
"Hi Tifa, do you have another package to deliver," Cloud asks ready for his job.
"Oh yeah, there is three of the outback," Tifa turns to look at (y/n), "I think one of them is for you, (y/n)."
"Really," she states, "Well, that is unusual. Who would send me a package? It's not like I know many people who would do something like that." Cloud looks at (y/n) at for a few seconds, concern in his eyes, and looks away before she could notice. Tifa's eyes dart to him, noticing the look in Cloud's eye as he walks to the storage room.
"(y/n), you look tired. Do you want to rest in the back?" Tifa asks her, noticing the slouch. "No, but can I have a cup of coffee? It's hard to believe school is starting in 2 weeks and Genesis is already having me work on the school play. The both of us finally agreed on a play to do. He was insisting on Loveless again," she complains.
"That sounds like him," Tifa comments, "So what's the play this year?"
"Romeo and Juliet. I have a feeling that this will be popular mainly with the girls," she looks Tifa, "But I think the guys will like more than Loveless after Luxord made them read it and analyze it in class."
Tifa smiles thinking to two years earlier, "I don't think I ever seen Cloud hate an assignment as much as that one. "
Cloud emerges from the back of the cafe, tossing (y/n) her package, "Here you go." Her hand quickly shoots up to catch the small package.
"Thanks," she says as Tifa passes her a knife to cut the package open with. Opening a package she sees a pair of black leather pants, which looks like they would fit her perfectly. Underneath the pants is a picture of Zack Fair, Sephiroth, and Angeal at a cliff with the sunset in the background. Zack and Angeal were the only ones smiling in the picture; Sephiroth looks like he was dragged the against his will based off the look in his eyes. She just looks at the picture and starts to giggle. Sephiroth just looks so put of place in the picture. There are two other things left in the package a letter and a necklace. She scans the letter and starts to smile, "They are coming back soon, Tifa!"
"Really, Cloud is going to be happy to hear that," she says.
(y/n) lifts the necklace out of the box. It has a beautiful black meteor rock at with carving in it. Filling in the parts that are carved is silver. "Puppy actually remembered my birthday this year," she mutters as she stares at the necklace.
"Zack, Cloud, Noctis, Dante, Kairi, Xion, and I all care for you, (y/n)," Tifa looks at her setting down (y/n)'s cup of coffee, "We will remember your birthday when it happens. You will be remembered."
(y/n) looks at the cup and mutters to herself, "I'm not so sure if that should happen."
END OF CHAPTER 0 - SUMMER DAYS
(A/N) The start of a new story. This is an idea that has been bouncing around my head for a while and now it is finally published. This will have a more lighthearted story than my other stuff but still has some dark elements. Also, I'm trying hard to prevent characters from acting to ooc. If you are willing to proofread the chapters that would be a great help as I am very busy with school. This story is actually written in between my classes so the grammar is not very good.
Hoping to make it through the day
