Rosy

The snow coming down, the lights and trees are starting to be put up. One of my favorite holidays is right around the corner. My name is Rosy. I’m 34 and work for the NYPD. I’ve been working there since I graduated college. A few years has past and I’ve seen a lot. I always wanted to write down things that happen to me on the job.

For example, today I arrested a woman for trying to steal pumpkin seeds from a drug store. Nothing major but I still find it weirdly funny. In the end, I bought them for her and let her off with a warning.

I don’t mean to brag but I’m the best investigator there. I graduated top of my class but I don’t think any of that matters to my boss. Nothing is good enough for that man. I can’t wait for my vacation to Florida.

I decided to come into work early not expecting to see look so depressing as it did. Not a soul in sight. I kind of like it. The silence and I’m happy that my boss isn’t here. Dude knows that he hates his life. And me.

I remember he made come into work right before Thanksgiving, knowing that I had to cook. He only wanted me to file some papers he was too lazy to do himself. He only hates because I’m the only hard working female thats on the field. He believes that women should be behind a desk working on documents.

Dirt bag. Why the hell should we do that?! Women are just as capable as men to be out on the field. If not, we’re better. I mean, women are pretty good at finding out the truth. Easy or hard, we’re amazing at that actually.

Alex Farns

Today is my first day at a new station and hopefully my last. I’ve been moved a lot on the job. I recently just moved from Florida now they want me on the NYPD force. At least it pays well. My name is Alex Farns and I’m a 36 year old investigator. I’ve been on the field for at least 7 years now and in that time period, I haven’t seen much.

I heard that I might have a “partner” to show me around and introduce me to the force. Not that I need a partner. Hopefully this is a short term thing. I prefer to work alone. Maybe this “Rosy” girl does too. That’ll make our lives easier.

Rumor has it that my new boss is hard to cope with. Wouldn’t be my first time on this ride.       Yay.

The Boss

Today I have a new recruit. I believe his name is Funes? Funs? Oh right, Farns. Mr. Farns that is. The guy is from Florida last time I checked. Not a big Florida guy myself but he’s been on the force for 7 years so I guess that’s okay. My name is… just call me boss and my age doesn’t matter. Just know I’ve been on the force for more than two decades now.

I’ve seen a lot in my time and it only gets worst. I wouldn’t say i hate my job, more like the people. Mainly Rosy. She thinks she’s all that just cause she graduated top of her class and is the “best” on the force. HA! So what, doesn’t mean everyone likes her. Especially me...

Our story starts with Rosy, Alex, The boss and their co-workers, all in the conference room discussing the day’s agenda. Everyone was ready for today’s work, however, their conversation could not prepare them for a case that would soon shock the whole city of New York

The boss said, “Okay. So Jones and Weston, you’ll monitor section B. Uh… Fans and Lohan, you have a new case coming in.” Alex corrected him. “It’s Farns, sir.” The boss, in a very mean voice, said, “ I don’t care, siR.” “Alright, I don't like him.” Said Alex. Rosy laugh at his remark then introduced herself. “ Haha, I'm Rosy. I was assigned to take you in. Welcome to the NYPD.”

“Thanks. I’m Alex and my question is, do you actually want to?” “What do you mean?” Alex looked at her for a short second. Analyzing her. Long, brown, reddish hair. Brown eyes. Height, 5’6”. Weight, about 135lbs. Sign Aries. Been on the force for almost 20 years. Smart. Very Smart. Also independent. Good, as was he. “Do you want to take me in? You seem like you ride solo. I mean I wouldn’t be mad, I ride solo myself.” She looked at Alex and read him. Black hair. Green hair. Favorite color: Black. Height: 6’2”. Weight about 193 lbs. Works out. A lot. The “sunglasses indoor” guy. Loyal, smart and a little edgy. Perfect.

“You’re right. I do ride solo, but when it comes to it, I don't mind lending a helping hand. I mean, be my guest and ride solo just make sure you tell the boss. I’m sure he’ll love to know that his new worm wants to go out to the big apple all by himself.” Alex smiled at Rosy letting out a little laugh. “You know what? I like you.” He said.

“Lohan, Fames!” Said the boss. “It’s Farns” Said Alex in anger “Whatever. Here’s your case file. You may find this very interesting Ms. Lohan. Good Luck.” When the boss walked away, Rosy open the file and read over it. Interesting it was. The following was read:

Case No. 1786574

Time Of death: December 1st 1995 11:17pm

Place of death: 4800 Cranberry Road

NAme of deceased: Wilbur Raven

Last known sighting: At his home w/ Mrs.Raven

Cause of death: TBA

Suspects: N/A

Mr. Raven was the mayor of New York city and a father figure to Rosy. Rosy's dad left when she was five and died when she was 15. He was killed and no one still doesn't know who killed him. At that time, Rosy made a promise that she would find her father's killer. That's when she meant the mayor who helped get her involved in the police force. He's always been there for her so to find out he was dead was really hard on her. The question is, why would the boss give her and the newbie this case? The boss new how close they were and how emotional this would be on her. Plus, Alex didn't know the mayor so that is a non-starter. “Sir! We have nothing to start with, how do you expect us to find the killer?” Alex asked. “Start with Mrs. Raven. 8 times out of 10, the partner of the murdered has something to do with it.” The boss left and went into his office. “Let's go.” She said. “I highly doubt Mrs. Raven killed her husband but I think we can get a new suspect from her.”
