Happy first day of spring!
Just a quickie update over here. I wanted to mention that I made some updates (improvements!) to Chapter's 12 and 17 of "The Rain". I'm going to abbreviate the changes here so that you don't have to go back and re-read.
The revisions involve Kay and Jaron's showdown. Spoilers ahead, so if you haven't gotten that far in the series yet or if you want to re-read and discover the changes for yourself, stop here!

Here come the spoilers for "The Rain" chapters 12-17!
While down in the tunnels below Babel, Jaron accuses Kay of taking advantage of Luca (his brother). Kay sees red and lashes out. When Jaron provokes her further, bringing up her failure to save Will she gives herself over to the madness and attacks Jaron.
Original story:
Kay threatens Jaron, overthrows him and takes his place as Waster chief.
New story:
Kay threatens Jaron, saying that he should tread carefully since it is within her power to take his tribe for her own and leave him with nothing.
Jaron leaves Babel and goes back into the desert to prepare for the war against the Madam.
Original story:
Jaron is no longer chief of the Waster tribe and co-leader of the Babelonian siege. He stays away from the camp and avoids Kay when she returns to the desert.
New story:
Jaron returns to the camp before Kay leaves. He brings with him a tribe of northern mercenaries and he brags about how their ruthlessness and capacity to kill. Kay understands that Jaron and his new army are a threat and relishes the chance to finally overthrow the chief and make herself sole leader. Chapter 17 ends off with Jaron and Kay withdrawing their weapons and preparing to fight one another for chiefhood.

There it is! If you read the summary up above then you know that Chapter 17 (the latest chapter, as of this writing) ends off on a new cliffhanger. I know that's probably going to be confusing for readers of 'The Rain' that don't read this book as well, but hopefully they'll forgive me :p
