I breathed in deeply. The air was crisp with the smell of the previous night's rain. I could feel it in my bones that it would be a good day. There were no mysterious portals to random places, no doors getting kicked down or any broken windows. It's almost sad that things like that just seem like a common thing for me, but it just meant it was time for an another adventure.
The early spring wind brushed past my wavy, brown hair. I remember thinking about how my great grandma was probably gonna be a little mad I took her blue sweater. I didn't really have a reason to take it except that it was warm and it was fun to mess with her sometimes. I can't wait to tell her what happened in art class today.Carter p.o.v.
I sat hunched down in the back of the bus. The back six seats were highschool only and it was usually just three or four of us. I couldn't have been more greatful that I always got a seat to myself. My bus ride was almost an hour long everyday.
I didn't mind the time though. It gives me time to think, space out or take a nap. Most of the time is spent pretending I'm a superhero ready to save everyone from danger or other fantasies like that.
I've been on a few adventures before and they went nothing like my heroic fantasies. Everything went wrong so many times and I couldn't do anything about it. I was lucky to have a friend with me at the time, because I don't know if I would have made it on my own.
I tugged on my red sweatshirt. I had a gut feeling that something was going to happen. The feeling was familiar, but not unwelcome. I just hoped I made the home soon.
