Colby closed the door to my bedroom behind him, and my heart suddenly started pounding in my chest. Even when we were in his apartment alone together, I wasn't this nervous. Probably because I knew our friends were going to be there soon, but now, even with Gwen and Katie down the hall, it was like we were truly alone for the first time."So," I started, unsure of what to so.
"So," Colby smiled, looking at me intently. Even with a grin, his gaze changed from playful to... something else entirely.
My heart lurched into my throat. "I'm tired."
Colby's eyebrows raised. "Okay. You want to go right to sleep?"
There was an unasked question within it, but both of us were unsure if it should be said aloud. The sudden change in mood startled me, enough that I wasn't able to properly think straight.
"Yeah. You don't mind?" I answered his question with another, debating in my mind where this was going. Sure, I had a change of heart regarding Colby's genuineness, but I wasn't entirely sure that I was ready to take that next step with him. That was something I had never done anyone besides my ex, and I was wary of that level of intimacy.
"Nora." Colby cocked his head, staring at me with a small smile. "You're thinking too much. As always. Let's just go to bed."
Sensing my hesitation, he climbed onto my mattress and burrowed under the blankets, popping out only his head. "C'mon. Get in. We've had a long night."
I followed his actions cautiously, crawling under the covers with him. My heart was still thundering in my ears, but it silenced once his arm wrapped around my waist.
"Shit," I groaned, pulling his arm off me. "I have to get into something more comfortable. I'm not gonna be able to sleep in this dress."
Colby mumbled something as I got out of bed, but when I looked back at him, he was dead asleep. I laughed to myself and changed into a big t-shirt and pajama shorts and quickly took off my makeup, crawling back onto the mattress as carefully as I could so I wouldn't wake him.
He looked so adorable. His hair was pushed off his forehead and his expression was peaceful. I couldn't resist placing a small kiss on the tip of his nose, settling down next to him. Even in sleep, he still reached an arm out to hold me, which made me smile uncontrollably.
"Goodnight, Colby," I whispered, resting my head on his chest and closing my eyes, my swirling thoughts lulling me into a dreamless sleep.

I woke up to soft kisses peppering my face.
Groaning, I flailed out my arms to fend off the attacker and was rewarded with a loud smack.
"Ow! Nora, I was trying to be cute!" Colby's voice whined, compelling me to glare at him through squinted eyes.
"Don't fuck with my sleep," I growled. "I don't care how cute you are. Don't try to wake me up before noon on a Saturday ever again."
After my initial grumpiness wore off and I actually started moving around, my mood improved. "What're we doing today?" I asked, glancing over at Colby. He was laying down with an arm behind his head, using the other to scroll through Instagram on his phone. He looked up at me, smiling.
"Oh? You're actually gonna make time for me today?"
I scoffed, reaching out to ruffle his hair. It was already messed up from sleep, sticking up everywhere. "You called dibs for the weekend, remember?"
"I remember," He sat up and leaned towards me, giving me a lazy kiss. "I'm just trying to decide what to do with you now that I have you all to myself."
