I suddenly awaken in a field. Nobody around, not even trees. Only grass, flowers, and whatever creatures may live here. This seems like a beautiful place, but it's just too empty. Why am I here? What could've been the reason for me to be here? I ask myself. I probably just had a few too many drinks last night. Oh yeah, that's right, I don't drink.
I spot a figure on the horizon and I start walking towards it. Getting closer, more similar figures form around it. A forest? Whoop-dee-doo. Time to get eaten by some random animal. I approach the forest and walk around in it for a while. After about 30 minutes, or at least what I think was thirty minutes, I find a cabin. A nice, beautiful cabin. Oh! The lights are on! Maybe somebody can help me. I come to the door and ring the doorbell. After about a minute of ringing it multiple times and nobody answering, I open the door.
"Hello? Is anyone around? I need to know where I am," I yell out. No response from anybody. I make my way through the house and find noone. As I am walking back out, I spot a staircase leading to a basement or something in that sense. As I'm walking down, I hear the muffled sounds of somebody struggling. I run down the stairs as fast as I can and as I'm turning the corner, I cut my arm on a loose nail.
"Fuck, that hurt," I exclaim. After saying so, I hear a sound coming from the corner of the room. "Be quiet... she-... she'll hear you..."
"Who will hear me? There's nobody here. Except you, of course."
As soon as I say that, somebody grabs me from behind and covers my mouth. "I'm glad you could come, Alecara. It's good to see you again." That voice... It can't be...
"That's right, darling. It's me. The one that you hate to admit that you love dearly. Or shall I say... hate with a passion." Leda pulls me to the same corner of the room that Sean is at and ties me to a chair and duct tapes my mouth shut. "Another word from either of you and I'll kill you both. It's nice to see that you've got me figured out, Alecara. Because of this, you're about to meet fate. Otherwise known as... oh let's just say... my knife to your throat."
She exits the room and I manage to like some of the adhesive off of the duct tape and tear it off with my tongue. "What the actual hell? Why is she doing this?" I whisper to Sean.
"I don't know, but I think if she hears you, you'll be dead, so you might want to shut up," he says, as quiet as he possibly can.
Leda returns with a glass of tea that's she's sipping on. "So, how did you figure me out?"
"Google is a wonderful thing," I respond. I then immediately regret being a smartass because she splashes her tea in my face. Afterwards, I open my eyes and look up at her. I can see her staring into my eyes trying to find reason to splash more in my face, but she just couldn't find it in her.
"You know, Alecara... I never noticed how cute your eyes are," she says quietly. Wait, but wasn't she just about to kill me? I am so confused...
"I can read your thoughts, so there's nothing really that you can hide from me. I was about to kill you, yes, but I think you could be useful," she says, "but don't get your hopes up."
"O-... Okay..." My arm is fucking killing me... That nail got me good.
She unties Sean and proceeds to untie me. "Sean, I'm sending you home, but I'm taking away your memory of any of this."
"As long as I make it home alive," Sean whimpers in fear.
After he is long gone, Leda takes me upstairs, wraps my arm in a bandage, and makes me a glass of tea. "Well, I feel special. 10 minutes ago, you were going to kill me, and now... Now, you're giving me tea and wrapping my wounds. What's up with this?"
"You'll find out soon enough," she says, letting out a happy sigh.
