Chapter 1

Alice pov

'Another year of school' I thought as I stood from my desk. I went and did my morning routine, my hair damp as I wrapped a towel around my body and ran past my family toward my room. Dropping my towel and walking to my closet I got dressed and walked down to the living room. Emmett, the hulk of my brother, was sitting down on the couch playing his Xbox with a content Rosalie perched in his lap. Edward and Jasper were both sitting in the loveseat reading the newspaper, Jasper sometimes giving chaste kisses to Edwards cheek. I went to the kitchen and saw Esme turning toward the door to give Carlisle a kiss on his lips before he went to work at the hospital. 'Everyone but me is happy with someone' I thought sadly as I sat down at the kitchen table.

"Now Alice, thats no way to think, be happy, your mate will come eventually," Edward spoke softly as he walked behind me, tapping my shoulder as he walked past. "but for now we have a school to go to." We all stood up and agreed that we would split into two groups. Edward, Jasper and I will go in Edwards volvo while Rosalie and Emmett would go in his jeep. Emmett drove off first with Edward driving close behind him when suddenly I was pulled into a vison.

'Dark brunette hair and chocolate brown eyes stared at me as she stepped out of her old red truck. Her smell one of roses and evergreen, a small smile touching her peach colored lips that looked as smooth as silk. Her build was small but looked toned as if she went to a gym, but not layered with muscle which I though was hot. She walked past our group smiling at us all and went into the building after looking back, staring straight at me.'

When I finally got out of my vision I was slightly confused at the slight ache in my chest, 'What in the world was that.' I thought to myself. By that time we were pulling into the school, but I noticed Edward was staring at me with a knowing smirk in the rear view mirror. Jasper looked between him and I a few times before he opened his door to step out of the car. Edward quickly and quietly spoke to me, "Alice, you'll understand in time, but dont hurt that girl." He then stepped out of his car and closed his door, leaving me wondering what he knew that I didnt. I got out when I heard a truck pull in the parking lot. When I looked I was stunned into silence. 'Thats the same truck.' I didnt move not even to take a breath that make me look somewhat human.

When the mysterious driver parked and stepped out it hit me. 'Edward tap my shoulder if my thought is correct. Is she my mate?' I begged in my thoughts, pleading him to let me know. Edward, not being able to stand my begging tapped my shoulder, confirming my pleased yet cautious thought. By now she was staring at us, more percise, staring at me. My mind a whirlwind of thoughts jumbled together caused Edward to whine behind me, snapping me from my thoughts and making me look away from the goddess standing on the other side of the parking lot. I turned toward my family only to see them all staring at me with knowing smiles. "What?" I said, not understanding why they were smiling at me.

I turned only to see her walking past my family and I, smiling at us all, and heading straight to the front doors of the school. When she got there she turned and locked her eyes directly on mine, smiled and then walked into the school. "HELL YEAH ALICE YOU FINALLY GOT YOUR MATE AND TURNS OUT SHE SMOKIN' HOT!" Emmett boomed loudly only to be slapped on the back of his head by a pissed off Rosalie as a quiet but terrifying growl made its way through my chest and past my teeth upon hearing him call my mate hot. 'Shes not just hot shes beautiful, gorgeous, etc.' I thought sourly in my head causing Edward to bust out laughing as Jasper sent calming waves toward me and Rosalie. Emmett grumbling under his breath about Rosalie not understanding his need to tease his little sis.

The five minuet bell rang out into the air telling us to hurry and get to our classes before we're tardy. 'Please let her be in at least one class of mine.' I thought causing Edward to smile at me before turning toward his class. I looked at my schedule to notice I had all free periods after lunch seeing as I "completed" all my classes at my "last school." 'Eddie, can I take your car home after lunch since I'm the only on in the family that doesnt have classes after lunch please Eddie?' I thought knowing he'd hear me. I heard my phone ping with a text from him saying that I could. When I got to class I noticed that it was art which was my favorite class ever. I jumped up and down excitedly before coming to a stop. The whole room smelled like roses and evergreen, the smell that came from my mate earlier this morning. I came and noticed the only open seat left was to the left of the brunette goddess that was my mate.

I walked in and sat down trying to hold in my voice before I spoke and scared her away from me. She turned to look at me under her eyelashed and then turned her attention back to our teacher who said that he will just have us make a portfolio meaning I can make whatever art I wanted. By then the whispers of "a Cullen" being in the class was spreading until everyone but the beauty beside me was talking about it. Myself being used to it, I just gathered the materials to sketch in my notebook, liking to make art at home rather than school. I was lost in my mind and my art until I felt warmth on my stone cold skin and when I looked over I saw my mate leaning over to see what I was drawing. I pushed my notebook over so she could see better and so I could have space to clear my mind.

"Its beautiful." I heard her whisper as if she was trying to not let me hear her. I turned toward her and then my artwork. It was of a figure that slightly resembled the goddess infront of me, but she had wings like an angel. The artwork angel had her wings slightly flared behind her but was walking through a forest. She lightly touched the page then pushed it back toward me. She then turned and looked me in my eyes and smiled, now showing me that she had dimples.

"Im Alice, Alice Cullen." I spoke softly but loud enough for her to hear, while holding my hand out to her. She kept her smile up while grabbing my hand to shake it also. "Im Bella Swan." I smiled and shook her hand then dropped it because it felt as if I had been shocked.

"Well Bella," I said putting a little accent on her name," what brings you to rainy Forks?" I said before thinking through my obvious flirtation. She smirked at me and thought for a second before speaking. "My mother and her husband are going on a vacation and I decided that I would just come live with my father instead." I registered what she said and nodded my head while smiling at her. "So I can say that Chief Swan is your father then?" I asked her while starting back at my artwork while noticing that she kept staring at me. "Yeah, hes awkward so he gets quiet when I say something blunt but hes a great dad and Im glad to live with him again." She said softy then stood up right as the bell rang. "Goodbye Alice see you at lunch." She whispered in my ear before leaving.
