Chapter 2

I literally jumped out the bath, rapped a towel around me and ran into my room. I grabbed the stick of my bed just in time and shoved it under my bed before Harvey walked in. "Hey babe." he said casually. "Hi." He sat down beside me on the bed. "How are you?" He asked. "Good thanks and you?" I asked politely. "Same." He replied. We were quite for a few minutes. "Ari my sister told me something and I didn't know whether to belive it or not. So I thought I'd ask you." he said fiddling with his fingers. Oh god he knows I'm pregnant. Rosa must of told him. "She told me that Aidin is moving in with you?" He said. Gosh that was close. "Yeah Aidins moving in because his mum and dad are going on a business trip for a year or so." I said. "Okay cool. Are you going to Davids party on Friday?" "Em yeah I suppose. I hadn't really thought about it. Are you?" I don't really like the fact on going to a party if I am keeping this baby but oh well. I'll stay away from the alchohal and stay totally sober.

After Harvey left I went downstairs and made raviolloi for me, my mum and my dad. It was already when they came in. I dished it out onto plates and set the table while they went a took their coats off and put their bags down. They came and sat down. There was an awkward silence which made me eat my tea quicker. My dad hadn't been the same since my mum offered for Aidin to move into our house. "So how was school?" My mum asked. "Same old. Same old." I replied with pasta in my mouth. My dad looked ta me disapprovingly. I smirked to my self. Once I had finished my raviolloi I gulped down the last of my orange juice. He gave me the same look. He didn't scare me.

I excused my self from the table and went upstairs. I checked my emails. I replied to the ones that needed replying. I then phoned up the clinic and asked if there was a time I could go tomorrow to check and see if my baby was okay. They told me they could fit me in at one o'clock. I then phoned up Rosa and asked her if she could come with me. And of course she could. I then read the next chapter of my book before going to bed.

In the morning I was all hiped up for the scan. I sang in the shower. I haven't done that for years. I put on cool but mature. It was a black vest top with a red and black crop top over it. I also had on my dark skinny jeans and my ugg boots. I did my hair in a ponytail. I put a little make-up on. I looked decent.

My mum was sitting at the table with a cup of tea. "The water in the kettle has just boiled. If you want tea or coffee." She said. "Thanks." I said getting out a cup and tea bag. "You look nice today. Where are you going?" Mum asked. "I am just going to the mall with Rosa." I lied. "Oh cool. Well here's some money." She said sweetly pushing thirty pounds into my hand. "Thanks." I smiled back. Once I had made my self a cup of tea I went and texted Rosa the excuse to tell Harvey and anyone else who asked. I switched on the television and watched a bit of the soaps to catch up on what I had missed.

At twelve o'clock I went and picked Rosa up in my car and left. "Oh my gosh! Ari I am so excited!" "Why I am going to get cold jelly stuff rubbed on my stomach and get to see a baby that's growing inside me. Pfft it's not that big a deal." I gave her a sly glance. "Ari?" "Okay, okay. I'm excited to. I can't wait to see it!" Rosa laughed. "Have you had any caffeine this morning, because your acting a little high?!" She said seriously. It sent us both into a fits of laughter. "Do you want to switch th radio on?" I asked when we had finaly controlled our selves. She nodded and pressed the button. Dynamite came on by Tiao Cruz. Me and Rosa sang along.

When we arrived I gave my name at the counter and me and Rosa sat down in the waiting area. "Ariea Marine, could you please come with me." A lady said. I nodded my head and me and Rosa followed her into a room. It said on her door that her name was Dr. Holden. "Ariea could you please lie on this bed for me." Dr. Holden said. I lay down on the bed. Now I am just going to put this cold jelly stuff on your stomach, okay?" She said. I nodded. She pulled up my top and spread the 'cold jelly stuff' over my stomach. I shivered at the coldness of it. "Now if you and your partner want to look at the screen." Dr Holden said referring to Rosa. Me and Rosa burst out laughing. "We are not together. We have nothing against people who are gay. I'm her cousins girlfriend and my twin brother is that babies daddy." Rosa said. The doctor gave us the expression that said "oh." We looked at the monitor and saw it. The tiny baby growing inside me. Me and Rosa awed at it's size. "Well your baby looks healthy and you do too. So I will see you in a few weeks for your next scan. Okay?" Dr Holden said. I nodded in agreement.

When I got home, I ate a vanilla yogurt and since I had lots of home work to do I got started on it. At about half past nine, I ran myself a bath and read my favourite book. Every time I looked down at my bare stomach it made me feel happy. I'm glad I'm keeping it. I would regret it for ever if I had an abortion. I got into my bed thinking of baby names and how strange they could be. I fell asleep and entered the world of dream land.
