Chapter 2

Xavier POV

"Dad I've already told you that I am not marrying nor am I going to court Stella." I sigh as I ran a hair through my messy hair. 

I've been up all night trying to go over our contract with the Angelo Corp. We needed to be ally with them, but there seems to be some obstacles standing in our ways and I'm trying to find a loophole to it.

"You might as well, it's the only way to get the contract." dad says as he sits across from me at the desk. My father and mother has been trying to get me into a marriage arrangement so we can get the contract.

"There has to be another way." I say still looking over the documents that's laid out in front of me. Angelo Corp thinks I'm too young to be getting into business, or the fact that I spend way too much time in business. They have a belief that if one spends too much time to focus on one thing it can lead to evil thoughts and whatnot. As you can tell they're probably really big on morals and whatnot. The deal is either I wait till I'm 28 (currently 26) or have a fiance.

"There's nothing wrong with getting into a marriage. Just look at your mother and I." dad says lightly chuckling. I smirked. True my parents have a great marriage. They got married through an arranged marriage, but that later on lead to love. For me I rather find love first, plus at the moment I was too focus on work to bother finding love.

"I can see just how that's working out." I say as I look at my father. He sighed and just shook his head at me.

"At least try and meet some girls at the party this week. Your mother and I are not getting any younger and we would like to see you settle down. Plus you've been way too focus on work. Go out and enjoy some fun my son. Geesh I never thought I would have to say this to my own child. You used to be so reckless as a child and now you're way too mature for my liking." dad says as I just grin thinking back to my days.

Yes it was true as a child I was a reckless one. I used to go around pranking everyone at school and getting into trouble. But that all changed one day. They say love changes you and of course in a sense that was true. I loved someone once in my life before. As a teen, I thought she was the most beautiful girl in my life. We dated, until she betrayed me and I found out all she was after was my money and fame. People couldn't be trusted. Not too easily at the least.

"Yes father, I will at the least try to socialize." I say as I gave in. Just then the door slammed open as my idiotic best friend came in looking like a complete mess.

"Aye my bruhhh!" he greets me before giving my dad a slap ass hug. He just shakes his head at him and laughs.

"What in the world did you do this time Jake." my dad says as he looks at the situation Jake is in. Jake laughs nervously as he fixed his suit and ran his hand through his hair. I've known Jake since I was little, we went to the same school as kids and our parents were friends even before we were born. More or less he's like a brother to me. Growing up I didn't have a brother considering I was the oldest in the family and next to me was my sister.

"I may or may not have tried to flirt with Alexis again." he says as we laughed. Alexis is our secretary and Jake's been trying to get her to go out with him for the longest.

"Dude you should probably just give up already." I say as he comes over and punches my arm. "Fuck off." he says a bit annoyed at the teasing. I laugh as got up and fixed myself a cup of coffee.

"Dude you look like a mess. Have you seen yourself in the mirror?" Jake asked as he gave me a look. I rolled my eyes at him. "As if you're one to talk." I say as I looked out the window.

"Well boys I'm heading out. I heard that there's a cafe around here that's getting popular and I think I want to check it out. Any one wants to join me?" dad asked as he gets his suit back on him. Jake childishly raises his hand.

"Count me in. I need some food in me." Jake says going toward my dad, then they both looked at me. "You coming?" he asks me. I shook my head and got nothing but silence from dad as he gave me a look and Jake just shakes his head at me.

"I swear I would change you to be my son then him. He's too much to handle." I heard my dad say to Jake. "I knew you loved me more than him." Jake says. "Actually I take it back, I like my son." dad says earning a whimper from Jake. I laughed at them before sitting back down at my desk. God this is going to be the death of me. Maybe they are right, maybe I just need to have a little excitement in my life.
