Story of TADS

Story 15- Monuments

So.. Today is the day we leave. We packed up and said our goodbyes. I made sure to stay in contact with them as well. We rented a car and we started driving through America, the home of the free. Our first stop: Las Vegas!
---Nevada---
"Man.. It's hot here..." Animal King says. "Yeah well, as long as I'm producing water and Ice, I think we'll be fine." Boxing Girl says. "Well.. Here is our first stop! Las Vegas! The lights and the sounds here are just amazing!" I said. We drove around and looked at the amazing Monuments there. We looked around a bit more and stopped at one point to pick up some food. Afterwards, we continued on the road. We stopped at the Hoover dam there as well and checked out the Grand Canyon. We left Nevada and continued on. We stopped at so many States. States that had.. Well.. Famous Monuments. The Space Needle, Mount Rushmore, The Arch, and a few more. We drove around for many days and we wrote down some of the cool things and Landmarks we saw. I saw Ivory working on her Story so that's good, she's been working on it for quite some time tho. Animal King got a postcard from Ohio so he can put it on the wall of 'Animal's Adventures.' Once we were on the east side of America, we started to look around more and pick up souvenirs. So many states with so many Famous Monuments. We then arrived in New York City. We decided to look around the place and take pictures. "Cool! The Statue of Liberty!" I said and I took a picture of it. "Look! It's the... World Trade Center.. *sigh* that's really sad..." Ivory says sadly. We had a moment of silence as we walked around looking at the names of where the original towers sit. We then hear a voice coming from behind us. "YO! Who Chou think you are?" One of them said. "We are TADS, Tokyo's finest Heroes." Boxing Girl said. "Then why you over here then?" I really am not in the mood to fight these people. "We are over here to explor-" Ivory gets cut off. "You know what, Stop TALKIN! Get on em!" Their leader says. We stand ready for the fight. We engaged in combat with them, but we realized we weren't the only ones with powers. So it was us vs them. It was a difficult fight with us being out numbered by 8. I can't believe these teens have nothing better to do, but cause trouble. We don't even understand why being bad is something people chose to do. It's not ok to do bad deeds. One of them then shoots fire at me and I kept levitating it away from me. Ivory shoots a fireball at him causing him to stop and fall backwards. We see this elder man walking across the battle field. Animal King shifts into a kangaroo and picks him up and puts him in his pouch, he hops over to safety and drops him off. "You know, you make for a good comic character." He says. "Really? Wait.. you make comics? I love comics! *Gasps* Are you.. Stan Lee?" Animal King asks excitedly. "Of course! I was just walking around the city just to clear my mind up and I came across this. Anyways, Thank you fellow lad for saving me." "You're Welcome!" Animal King replied. "Excelsior!" Stan Lee said happily.
I felt as if this fight would never end. Then, Boxing Girl and Ivory formed their power and created a Steam cloud causing the enemies to become blinded in the Steam. I then levitate a crate and threw it at them. Some of them got hit while the others didn't. They started charging at us and Boxing Girl shot out ice shards at them causing them to stop. "Just give up! Stop fighting!" I yelled. They ignored me and kept fighting back. We resisted and didn't give up. This wasn't the first time we fought a team bigger than us. All of a sudden, the ground started to shake and rubble. "Oh no" One of them said "RETREAT!" Their leader Yelled. They began to run away and we wondered why. We then look behind us and we see a big green monster. "Don't tell me we have to fight him also." I said. "We don't, it's the hulk, it's on the good side." Animal King said. "How do you know that?" Boxing Girl asks. "Comics." Animal King replies. We then see it disappear behind some buildings.
We said our good byes to New York and started heading down south. I could tell that we all had thoughts running through our minds just by our expression. We stopped at a diner and we decided to eat. Boxing Girl and Animal King were in a conversation and Ivory was busy eating. She was possibly starving as I could tell, we all were. I didn't think much about eating. We finished our food and we decided to order some dessert. We all randomly decided to pick a random dessert we have never tried before. There was this one that caught my eye, the triple fudge stack with ice cream and whip cream. When it came to the table, it gave me a sad and terrible vibe. I remembered it as the 'Caksadie' dessert way back in San Francisco way before the war. I remember sharing it with... her.. Caroline.. she came back into the hub of our base after her mission. I could tell that she was in a mess so I offered her a break and to sit with me. She thanked me for sharing the dessert with her. I begin to tear up and I ran outside in tears. Ivory came outside and sat next to me on the curb. "Everything alright?" Ivory asks me. "*Sniff* Maybe. It's just.. that dessert... reminded me of.. her.. the memories, the runs we did together... I miss her so much." I tried to hold back from crying. "It's gonna be ok." Ivory said calmly. "Might be.. The war.. Was cause of me.. I was on a mission and I got too curious and I got caught in the Elysium.. and... running away from K-Secs.. and I ran back to the base and.. Then.. The explosion of the Eden Mall.. which caused this war. I'm not sure who caused the explosion, but I suspect it might be the leader of the Runners.. I just feel that I triggered something in this chain reaction leading up to the Catalyst War... I miss her... but.. she's possibly gone now." "It's.. alright.. it isn't your fault. It's ok.. I'm here." Ivory then hugs me of comfort. We head back inside and finish up eating and we got back on the road. I wrapped my self in my Blue Blanket. It was soft and just.. gave comfort to me.[Reference to Future Story]
I woke up to yelling. It was coming from the front. Animal and Boxing Girl were arguing, but I didn't know what. I looked over at Ivory, but half her head was hiding in a blanket frightened. After a while, Boxing Girl and Animal King stopped arguing. I started drifting back to sleep with Ivory resting her head on my shoulder. I kissed her forehead and fell asleep.
We stopped for a while for all of us to sleep. We woke up, got out and stretched and we went to this lighthouse. There was a tour and we decided to join in. We got to the top of the lighthouse and the view was phenomenal, although I'm scared of heights, but the view was fantastic. We went to this museum to see the history about this old fort that was used for battle. There was a cool backstory and we got to witness a cannonball being shot out of the cannon. I wasn't even sure if there was a cannonball that actually got shot. The noise was loud, but cool though.
We decided that it was time to leave America. We rented a boat and set sail. It was getting dark and everything was calm, so we decided to sleep for a while, but we made a mistake of sleeping. A giant wave hit us in our sleep and the last thing I remember was falling off the boat into the water and passing out. I was scared, but all I wanted at the moment.. was to be home.
