Cole's POV
The first time I met Blue. Almost a year ago, New Year's Eve. It wasn't a day I particularly enjoyed much. To me it was a day like the rest. Pretty ordinary.

To many people New Year's Eve is a time of celebration. Celebration of what? I've always wondered. Most of these people don't have anything to be proud of. Well done Pete, you've made it another year without needing a liver transplant there's a cause to celebrate for or get absolutely off your face and wake up at a random place you have no recollection of how you got there. Strange how the mind works.

My friends had forced me to come to this penthouse party thrown by someone I didn't have a clue who was , I knew it would be some prestigious asshole who gets plastered to cover up his insecurities of having not succeeded at a single thing. I mean that is except spend all daddy's money and not work hard and earn anything himself. I took one step into that party and my predictions were accurate. The place was practically infested with them type of people. You could say, it's not my scene.I tried to leave as soon as I got there but I couldn't just bail on my friends , seeing as they all came in my car! I tried to talk to people yet they were all so dull and pretentious. I had to find somewhere else to be!

I made my way up to the rooftop. There was finally a place to be alone. Or so I thought. I sat and rested my head against the side of the wall. I drifted away into the blissful silence and the gorgeous view. It took me about 7 minutes to realise I wasn't the only person on this rooftop and somehow I don't think she realised either.

I was intrigued by this young woman, who had her head in between her arms, but i didn't want to interrupt her. Also I didn't want to scare her seeing how obnoxiously close she was the the edge of the roof. So I just sat. At first I thought maybe she came here to escape the party like me but every once in while I could here her almost silently sobbing. Usually when people cry I feel no empathy and it really annoys me, I believe people only cry in the open for attention, but this time It actually hurt my heart listening to her quietly weep and I didn't even think she was wailing for attention. I mean I guess I shouldn't think that at all as she is in private - well she thinks that. I felt extremely intrusive just watching her cry alone, something so raw and personal.

I couldn't take my eyes off her though. She was gorgeous and I hadn't even seen her face yet. You could just tell. The way her effortless, wavy , midnight brown hair perfectly swayed once wind hit it. Her arms were uncovered , exposing her golden, naturally tanned skin. It was so smooth I just wanted to touch her and show she wasn't alone. But reality struck and I was just an outsider looking in.

I slowly got up, trying to stay as quiet as possible. I really didn't want her to see me leaving and have her last thoughts of me as being the weirdo who watched her in an intimate moment. I headed to the door.
