THE SOUND OF WAVES crashing relaxed Luna as she laid against Embry's bare chest, both of them wet from the day at the beach with the pack. She had been spending even more time with them, not wanting to be home with Bella or see Edward.
"I should get you home." Embry mumbled in her ear.
"Back to Emily's." She sighed, "I don't wanna go back home."
"You haven't been home in a week, babe. I think you should see your Dad."
Luna sighed, "Fine."
"I love you."
"I love you, too."

The youngest Swan sat at the lunch table with her arms crossed over her chest. She had peacefully been sitting on her own when Jessica pulled her to sit at the table.
While Bella had been eating most of the time with the Cullen's since they had gotten back, Luna had been sitting with the others and they were all actually getting along with each other.
"Hey, just in time." Mike said as Bella and Edward came over, "Check this out. My fellow students. Cool, right?"
"Wow."
"Okay, right?"
"That's cute, Mike." Luna giggled, playing with the promise ring Embry had given her a few days before.
He started again, "We are the future. Anything is possible..if you just believe."
"Nice." Angela said.
"I put the last part." Luna giggled once more, ignoring the looks from her sister.
"Blah, blah, blah. Perfect. And you got yourself a speech." Mike sat the piece of paper onto the table.
"No." Jessica grabbed the paper and crumbled it up. "This will be my speech when I want everyone to throw diplomas at my head. So thank you." She threw it at him.
"Ya gotta embrace the cliches, Jess." Mike told her.
"They have the bread and butter of all valedictorian." Jessica told him.
"Your speech will be epic." Luna threw a grape towards her.
"Epic? Luna Grace, it'll change lives." Jessica smirked.
