~First chap in the houuuuuzzeeeeee~
Well, I'm gonna start out with my opinion on David since this was my brother's first request for me, plus he happens to be his favorite character.
Now, I absolutely LOVED David in season 1. He just downright amused me! I know it's an unpopular opinion, but I appreciated how unique he was and he showed us that non-objects do indeed exist in the BFDI universe. His design doesn't bother me like most people, either. Let's not forget those highlights of him like that strange distorted meltdown of his during the staring contest, and that weird auto-tuned Mary Had a Little Lamb during the unicycle contest! THEM THREE HEADS BOI. I'm bummed he was up for elimination that episode. He lasted for such a short while! (I mean, at least he ended up in 8th place, which is considerably a pretty good position.)
In season 4, however, things went a little downhill for our guy. There was nothing that made him stand out much any longer, and his existence had come to revolve around nothing but the very few words he can say. He still had his funny moments; rejecting Balloony's demand of licking those jawbreakers and expressing massive disgust at the team's vomit cake, showing that he's one of the few and maybe only member with actual common sense, and his rebellious & antisocial attitude can be relatable. I also have to point OUT that he did try to help, considering him piloting BEEP's plane in BFB 5. Sure, he dozed off, but don't we all doze off from time to time? I find the dude pretty relatable actually when I think about it. Unfortunately, they lost that very episode, making him very eligible to leave next after that episode. He was in luck that Roboty managed to get more votes, though, despite me liking both of them. But guess what, BEEP lost a whopping 3rd time! And in conclusion, I could tell they made BEEP lose constantly just to get him out as soon as possible. I mean, Cary himself did say during one of his reaction videos to BFB 2 that he's glad BEEP lost, mainly because the team had way too many deadweights that they wanted out. David, of course, had to be one of them. It's sad they had done nothing to his character, I found him very amusing in season 1 and he had quite some interesting abilities that may have helped in future challenges! Unfortunately, though, they've thrown all of that away and made him stuck with the only thing he had left, that being his deceased catchphrase.
Overall, he has his pros and cons.
Pros:
-Unpredictability and uniqueness, which made him stand out as a character.
-Can be amusing to some.
-Plenty special abilities.
-Relatable overall character.Cons:
-Somewhat useless in the majority of the challenges.
-The "Aw, seriously?" gag had gotten too old at this point.
-No character development.
-Poorly and lazily written character.Overall rating:
Personal opinion/Based on my likeness of the character:
75/100! I still like the guy!
Canon opinion/Based on progress and development:
15/100. Just a poorly written character, despite my opinions of him. He could've had more potential. But it was thrown right into the trash. He was a joke character, though, so he was doomed for early elimination.
Average opinion:
45/100.
