America had always been a very outgoing person. He had always been more outgoing than any of his siblings, always the most 'likable' out of the four of them.
But, that all changed when he got to college. His lighthearted humor became darker and he didn't seem like a fun person to be around anymore. His siblings still loved him, he was still a good person deep down, but when he got around people like North Korea and Vietnam, he seemed like a whole new person.
Russia, on the other hand, was very much the opposite. His siblings had always been more outgoing than him, and since they knew that he wasn't much of a people person they never made him do things that he didn't want to.
And when he got to college he wasn't very different, he was still quiet but he became more sarcastic towards certain people. He was never once mean to his siblings, and he became more of a hard worker than ever before. Meaning that as in he liked to stay up till 5 AM working on projects that were due at 8 AM.
But, what happened when you put America and Russia in the same room was very interesting, they seemed like new people, Russia more cold than ever and America a complete jerkwad. This is why people always tried to keep the two away from each other. They had gone to High School together but it wasn't as bad back then because they didn't have any classes near each other after a brutal fight in their freshman year.
The real reason that America was so cold towards the Russian was the fact that his father hated the Russian family. When America had mentioned that he was going to the same school as Russia his father told him that if he ever came into contact with him that he would beat the shit out of him, which he didn't doubt. He and his father have never been the closest, America was much closer with his mother, France.
It all started after they both were forced to meet each other.
America sat in the office portion of the college, it was almost midnight, another person sat next to him.
A very sullen and beat up looking Russia.
They had bumped into each other, but when Russia apologized to America the latter had freaked out remembering what his father had said to him. He immediately did they only think that he could think to do and punch the other.
Russia had gotten quite pissed about this and backhanded him across the face, which essentially sent America into fight mode. The campus security had dragged them away from each other and hauled them into the office. Told that if they did anything else that they would get the real authorities involved.
America only had a slightly bruised cheek and a few scrapes on his arms, Russia was alot more injured. He had a black eye and there was a large red mark on his face which looked like he had been kicked in the face. Another thing to support this was there was a small trail of dried blood from his mouth to his chin, making it look like he had coughed up blood.
Essentially the one with the real damage was Russia, due to the fact that he wasn't trying to hurt America. Because unlike America's father, Soviet didn't mind the capitalist too much until Russia had come home one day covered in bruises and ready to burst into tears.
- flashback -
Soviet heard the front door open, he was in the kitchen and preparing food for when the rest of his family got home. He could only assume that it was Russia because Third was working late that day and Ukraine had track practice. Belarus and Germany always went to the park to walk around after school, the only times they didn't was when it was raining, which it wasn't.
"Welcome home Россия!" (Russia)
He heard nothing other than a weak greeting from the front hallway of the house, this was strange in itself because usually when Russia got home he was pretty happy. He had always loved coming home because he perpetually had such a hard time making friends in school.
